My scooter recently quit running right. It used to bog down after it would seem to get hot or after it had bounced around a lot ( not sure which) and then would bog down almost to barely moving. Then one day it just pretty much quit starting. So, I bought a new carb and slapped that on, slapped a new air filter on, put a new spark plug in, put a pcv valve on, and put a new fuel filter in. It still won't start. It seems to be on the verge of starting when you turn it over but it never really goes. I've made sure I've got spark. I 've got compression. I sucked on the vacuum line that goes to the petcock and it squirts out fuel when I do. The carb is full of fuel. I tried spraying starting fluid in through the carb and still nothing has changed. I've also tried placing my hand over the carb and tried to start it. Nothing. Any suggestions to what it could be? I am possibly gonna try a different CDI box this weekend. I'm really at a loss on this one.

Set the valves to .004"
Check for spark.
Check compression.

I'm going to set the valves tomorrow. There is plenty of spark and It will press my finger off the hole when I try to start it. Only thing I'm not sure about is how much it should blow my finger (obviously it would be ideal if I had a gauge to check it but I don't)

if it blows your finger off your good. when my old motor ate the piston and rings, I could hold my finger over the hole while cranking. so as long as it will pop your finger off you have compression that should be fine.
