I will be 71 in November and I use either a bicycle or my scooter for most of my transportation during the snowless months. Last year I used only two tanks of gas in my car from April - November. I will keep doing this until I am old enough to know better.

I started with a 50cc in Wisconsin, no license was required. When I wanted to trade up to a 125, the dealer would not allow me to take a test ride without the mc endorsement or a mc learner's permit. The learners permit is a written test and was not a big hassle. After the required length of time with the learner's permit I took the road test and got the endorsement. When I applied for insurance on the 125, I had the mc endorsement

I have a 2013 pcx 150. I get from 98 to 108 mpg depending on what kind of riding I am doing. I have had it past 70 mph on the speedometer. There is no step through but I consider it a scooter because I do not have to shift. I have had both a vino classic and a vino 125, this is my favorite scooter.

Temperature in the high 20's F this morning, snow predicted for tonight and 6 plus inches of snow predicted for Monday. Next week highs are will be the 20's with lows in the 10's. Today I put some Sta-Bil in the gas tank and rode to the gas station and filled the tank and rode home. I didn't take the battery out yet. I am hoping after next week there might be a chance or two ride before I put the battery in the basement on the drip charger and wait for spring.

I never enjoyed driving. I use a bicycle for transportation whenever possible. When I started coaching at a school 17 miles from my job , I couldn't get there on time riding a bike and didn't like spending the money for driving a car that distance every day. So I bought a Vino Classic 50. I could not avoid traveling on some roads with 50mph speed limit. My Vino could not reach 30mph into the wind and the next year, 1997, I traded it in for a new 1996 Vino 125. I really enjoyed the 125 both for transportation and recreation. Spring 2013, I went to the dealer to buy some oil and while there I stopped to look at the new Honda PCX 150 before going to the service desk. A sales person asked me if I wanted to take it out for a test ride. I did and I was hooked. I bought the scooter instead of the oil.

I ride from all the snow is gone from the streets, usually April but sometimes not until May until the snow stays on the streets, usually November but I have ridden in December twice. 8 degrees F. is the lowest temperature I have ridden in. Modern materials and clothing have made it possible to do this.
