Nice observation. I know I am due to replace the rear brake master cylinder reservoir sight glass. With only less than 6500 miles, my brakes have been just fine. I will check the extension of the pistons. I dont have used up pads yet to use for spacers. But I am thinking I need to buy a set just in case. I know Bluefront had found a correct size (Xingyue ITA150). I think my Znen has rear disks also.
Wish the weather would get nice enough to ride, wrench and generally be outside.

Gas Mileage

I write my odometer reading and the amount of gas I buy at each fill up. Octane rating (because sometimes I switch to see if I feel any difference), current odo reading, current price of the gas, the date, and the volume of fuel I've bought. I have a small stack of 3"x5" cards with a hole and a zip-ty keeping them together, kept under the seat, which has to be opened to put in the gas. I haven't bothered to calculate in a while, I did early on. I did make notes when I made changes in the carb.
When I get my new exhaust on and the EFI kit, I will do the math more reliably.
Now if the weather would cooperate, I could get some riding in. Rain in the forecast for all week, and chilly.

There was an incident in the last couple years at a stopped for red light intersection where a group of bikers were run over by a truck stopping too late. I do not recall how many were killed or injured. If lane splitting had been legal in that area, the bikers would have probably been up front between the lead cars, and the truck would have only hit the cars at the tail if the lane. I would not likely split lanes at speed, because of reckless drivers and morons who don't think you should be able to slip through just because you are on a smaller more space efficient vehicle and will attempt to murder you. However, watching videos of Taiwan and such, seeing the scooters split up to the front and then leave the cagers behind on green, that does seem reasonable. EDIT: This is an article about the wreck, phoenix.gov/news/policebreakingnews/dump_truck_040610.htmlAnd I finally found some chatter about the possibilities if lane splitting were legal, (at least at intersection = 'filtering') www.msgroup.org/forums/mtt/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=12447This article was also linked in the forum: jalopnik.com/5502943/the-phoenix-dump-truck-motorcycle-deaths-were-preventable

I ask for the online price in the store. I recently bought a tool cart. List $299. Online deal was $100 (plus nearly 100 for shipping!). In the store it was $150. I asked at the store, and they said absolutely ($100 plus tax)and he helped me lift into the van. Also, I was buying the 11 pound (?) digital scale and since I didn't know I was going to be in the area, I didn't bring the 20% coupon. And again the cashier was nice enough to help me out. I suggested that they either get key chain cards or better yet let us sign in like Walgreen's with a number so we don't have to kill trees to save a few bucks.

you could get a free dropbox account and upload with the free app, then either share from there or download to the computer.
I send everything to my microSD card. I can either use USB or pop the microSD into the laptop to access the files.

I hate getting a mile down the road and realizing that extra wind noise is the chin straps slapping the helmet cause I forgot to lace the D-rings. I've never had D-rings come unlaced on their own. Snaps would be nice since I have a beard that can get cinched up in the chinstrap. I always have some glasses on - HD safety sunglasses, or clear safety glasses. If the visor is getting fogged I can raise it and not have an issue with wind and debris in my eyes.

Leatherup.com is one place I shop. Get a cloth measuring tape like from a fabric store for measuring your head.
I prefer 3/4 for any weather, full face fogs and gets warm in very cold or very hot weather. A snowmobile helmet for cold and a modular for the rest of the weather. I have several different gloves, depending on the weather.
