ok so just tried about every leverage point i could think of tried with the hacksaw blade but couldnt get it under the nut. tried leverage with a long screw driver under the manifold pushing up got nothing, then tried down as well just to see if maybe it would catch a little that way. so i know this is kind of a stupid question but i have to ask. with the studs stripped out like this will it cause a vacuum leak between the manifold and the valve head? im pretty sure it will im just curious because it still feels like its on there pretty good.

sorry for the respond time but i finally got around to working on the scooter today and had a hand so i know the timing was done correctly and im still not getting it to fire over. i guess the only thing left to check is compression?

I saw your Video on your previous post. If you setup the timing with it pointing halfway between the "T" and the "F" it is TOO RETARDED. Its ok for it to bounce back like that but bring the timing up like you did in the VIDEO then put your cam in line up the two little holes even with the head and put the chain on. NOW you want to align your timing mark USING THE CHAIN. Grab the TOP of the CHAIN and hold the cam with the other hand and move the chain 1 link over now look at your time mark and pointer it should be ON the "T" or JUST RIGHT BEFORE the "T". Hope this helps. Alleyoop thanks alley i think thats what the other guy was trying to explain to me and i just didn't really understand atleast its a simple fix and lets hope for the best. jeepsteve i really dont have that tool so im just trying to find a simple solution and this way seems simple enough once i learn the trick but thanks any ways.

ok so i listened to this guys advise about timing and she wont start. heres the link if you wanna read what i was told. itistheride.boards.net/index.cgi?board=50ac&action=display&thread=3823So i did the compinsation i measured how far the chain travels and in which direction to compinsate for, it was like exactly one tooth counter clock wise on the cam to compinsate for the timing marks not lining up. so i have spark (blueish white color) and fuel (i can see the fuel traveling through the fuel filter) and i can feel and hear the compression (no compression gauge) but when i go to start it, doesnt even sound like it firing at all, just the fuel and air being pushed out of the exhaust. So do i take her back apart and not compinsate for the timing marks being off? im not sure what to do at all really so any help would be appreciated.

www.ebay.com/itm/140943878128?ssPageName=STRKkeep in mind i have the ported head from buford. will this be to much free flow and negate the postitive effects of getting a performance exhaust. im kinda scared to mess with the exhaust. i am currently working on getting my carb tuned properly havent got there yet havent had time to work on a lot.. this is kinda of just im curious as i dont fully understand exhaust bc i see all this contradictory information like i have mostly read people saying that the engines need back pressure fromthe exhaust to run properly. then i see people saying stuff like the more air you can push through these the better (upjetting understood) so what do you guys think?

where did you purchase the scooter from? online or from a store? either way i would change all fluids and most defintely check the valves most people will set at .004mm for both. check all wiring make sure there are no lose battery, soleniod, cdi, etc. there are a number of things that can cause your problem. there could be something wrong with your petcock or fuel pump depending on what kind of setup your scooter is. help us help you buy tell us everything you know about your scooter.
