Yes, i always check the level with the scooter on the center stand, and on a flat surface. Btw, i use the Castrol Power 1 10w40 oil. It's not a fully synthetic oil.
Should i try to use a different oil?

Ok, so today i checked the oil level and it was almost at half when engine cold, and slightly higher when engine is hot. So strange why sometimes it showed a much higher level when engine is hot. My next thought is why the oil level is lower. It's been around 800 miles since i changed the oil. The cylinder and piston + rings are all new. also the valves are new and valves seals. No oil leaks as i can see. I checked the airfilter housing and no oil from blow by. Btw, the oil didn't get a black color yet. I still didn't add more oil. left it like that for now. Can it still be that the rings are not fully seated after more than 1200 miles? I did ride it a few times with WOT (after the engine break in). Running it at WOT can cause the engine consume oil on high RPM's? Before the rebuild i had to add almost a quart of oil every 600 miles. so it's not like that now, but still, i thought it will not have a loss of oil at all. This is a picture of the plug. looks ok for my opinion.

Hi, Thanks for the answers. When you guys check the oil do you usually see much different between cold engine or hot engine? When i check it complelty cold, it sometimes can be almost half of the dipstick, and when engine is hot, it can be almost at the top of the dipstick. Hi, I wanted to ask if you see a difference in the oil level when you check it when engine is cold compared to when it's hot? When the engine is hot, i wait a few minutes and then i check the oil level, and it's slighlty higher than when i check the oil with the engine completely cold. Thanks. Are you the one who had the prob with oil blowing out the valve cover ? No. I am the one who made a complete rebuild of the engine. itistheride.boards.net/thread/7165/sym-125cc-rebuilding-engine

Well, actually i tried to pull it up, and it's not lifting that much. I'll see if i can check it again and make a video of that.
Thanks.

What do you think about the first video with the Old Tensioner? The chain slack is too much, or is it ok?
Thank you.

I have a new chain, and i also installed a new tensioner, but still had too much slack. So i installed the old tensioner back, and it seems better than before with the new tensioner.
Do you think is still to much slack?
Here is how it was with the New Tensioner:

Hi,
I didn't check it in my scooter, but i wonder if the piston is at TDC, the timing chain will have more slack in compare to when one of the valves is open?
Or it should be the same slack?
Thank you.

Actually i just want to fix that rattle noise. i don't want to change the inside. So, cutting it where i marked it in the picture will allow me to take out what is inside and make repairs? If I don't remember wrong you want be able to see into the muffler because of the "chamber wall" at the back. I suspect that the rattling sound you hear is one of the tubes that runs between the chambers because which is loose. But if you are lucky it could be that last pipe at the end of the muffler and you will see it and be able to weld it back again. Here's a good video of how it can looks like inside: I hope it's the last pipe at the end of the muffler. When you shake it, you can hear something is loose.

Hi, I have a SYM 125cc which i rebuild the engine and also finished the engine break in. The original exhaust which made over 100k KM is making a rattle noise (it started to rattle before the rebuild). I bought a replacement exhaust, unfortunately it was not a perfect fit from the begining. Where i bought it, they bent the pipe a little on a bench vise until it fitted the bolts holes, but the center stand leg is touching the pipe. I tried to find a used exhaust, but didn't find one. Anyway, i wondered if is it possible to cut open the old exhaust and fix it? Where do you need to cut it? at the middle or at the end? Here is a picture of the old exhaust: Thank you.

Thank you, maybe i'll get a new tensioner. but is it ok to manually adjust the tensioner?
What do you think about the second video? there is almost no side free play after i turned the tensioner about 1/4 of a turn counter clockwise.

I think you were right about the tensioner. I'm not sure if it's bad or not, but today i turned the tensioner about 1/4 of a turn counter clockwise, and it made the chain to be more tensioned, and that free play stopped almost completely. (you don't hear that "tic" sound from the chain like before in the other video i made).
This tensioner supposed to do it automatically, right? Or sometimes you need to "help" it?
Here is a new video:

The chain almost don't move up/down, pretty tensioned. What can this side free play do in long term?
