How's it going , I'd go with a 1500 rpm main and 1500rpm clutch springs . When I comes to the roller weights I'm guessing the stock weights were 8 grams .now that you have 5 gram weights I'd order a set of 7 grams so you can tune the cvt in the way that feels best for you after the bbk is installed . You can mix the 7's and 5's to get 6 grams or the 8's and 7's to get 7.5 grams . If you want you can also get a set of 6 grams so you can fine tune to cvt to 5.5 , or 6.5 if needed . Also how are the 8's ? " how old, are they wore out ?" You may want to pic up new 8's also . You won't really know until you start to mess with them . Many things come into play like weight of the rider , the kind of riding you'll be doing , etc. The stock had flat spots so I got the 5g rollers. The bbk comes with 8g rollers. I weigh 186.lbs. I don't need a NASCAR take off just something nice and quick to get me in and out of traffic without getting hit. My original top end was about 45-50? (I was able to max out the speedometer needle without too much of a problem on a flat) That would be cool with me. I wouldn't mind installing the "Taller Gears" if I need to but, one concern I have is, Does this mess with my RPMs and will it strain my motor in a bad way? Also the hill leading to my house is a factor but im hearing great things about the bbk and hill climbing.

2010 Shanghai Beta 50cc 4 stroke. (soon to be 100cc?) Hello everyone, I need some advice on what Rollers/Sliders and Clutch Springs to use.( I didn't look at the clutch pads yet, how often do they need to be changed? 5000 miles on the scooter.) Ill be satisfied if it can run like when I first bought it with only 5 miles on it. in 2011 Did 45-50 no problem and I never had a real concern taking off. There is a big two block hill leading to my house also so this is a daily factor. I wouldn't mind a faster take off and more top speed wouldn't hurt, Mainly for safety reasons. I never really managed to get it back to normal no matter how many valve adjustments, carb cleanings and an NGK plug. I purchased some 5g rollers and a new belt but couldn't get the bike running to try them out yet. I just purchased this: 100cc Big Bore Kit Performance Cam Performance CDI & Coil GY6 139QMB 50mmKit Includes 50mm Big Bore Cylinder Kit With Assembled Head, Performance Racing CDI (AC Fired), High Performance Ignition Coil, Taiwan Performance Racing A9 Cam, Kei Hin Carburetor With High Flow Air Filter · Head is Completely Assembled Ready to Install with matching Rocker Arms works with 64mm or 69mm Valve Length · 50mm Piston Set With Rings & Wrist Pin · Big Bore Main Jet, Rocker Arm Set, 8 Gram Roller Weights, Oil Pump & Sprocket, Intake & Exhaust Studs & Complete Gasket Set
It has a 19mm Carb, and a # main jet . Ill be installing as soon as it comes, But I don't know if I should install the 8g rollers that this came with or keep the 5g ones, or are 5g way too light for a bbk? Should I use Sliders? I know what rollers/sliders do but I'm no tuning expert so I'm using you guys expertise to help me Also, The Clutch and springs. I have the stock in there now but I'm not sure if my clutch pads are due to be changed(5000k miles on it) and if I need different springs? Taller Gears Question: I ofter hear talk about "Taller Gears" for more top speed, Should I get Taller Gears? More top speed is nice but if my bike will perform like it did when it was new then I don't really care about more top speed. Or, Is my bike just worn out and I need Taller Gears to make it go fast again? And, Do I need a Performance Variator also? Please help so I can make my purchases today, The bbk is on its way and I wanna order whatever I might need today, so I can have everything I need at the same time so I can get rolling again. Thanks for all your help. Also I didn't get an answer on trying to finish up my last repair( Link to thread)but im hoping the coil and CDI will solve my spark problem since I already changed the stator.

**New info**Alright so here's the latest. I purchased a stator linkIt was one of the only I could find with everything correct except for the plug tip which I swapped with my old one. Installed it and it started up but ran really rough. I took a look at my plug and it was sooty. I still had an old plug under the seat from when I swapped with the current one, it wasn't really bad but I just wanted the NGK, so I put that in there. Still running rough. I know it was sitting for several months, but like I told you guys before, I broke down and cleaned the carb so I pretty much ruled that out. Test Drive**Side note** I also ordered and put on: A new belt, new rollers 5g and new variator guides. It rolled rough but ok at about 2-4MPH giving it slight throttle, but when I tried to speed up, it started reving(still roughly) like my belt was slipping. But when putting on the new belt, when pulling the clutch plate back to drop the belt in, it kinda felt like a little sticky/rusty(my guess is from sitting a few months?) and I was concerned a little that it wouldn't smoothly open and close or maybe the plate was a little crooked and would wobble while spinning. I attempted to take the CVT cover off while the bike was running to see if maybe it was wobbling or running smooth, well the bike didn't start up anymore.(it started a few times prior to my test drive after stator installation) I got the multi-meter out and went through the full test from the video again. Everything was ok accept for a few things, so ill just post the oddities. New Multi-meter testBlack and Yellow wire on the CDI that goes to the coil showed .03 which is too low. Crank test:Black and Red wire on the CDI while cranking reads 43.v Red and White wire on the CDI while cranking reads .071 (too low) Resistance test:From the bottom of the spark plug to the top terminals of the ignition coil with the multi-meter set to 20k reads 7.79. **On a side note** During the crank test the bike started up once and ran (I had to keep some throttle for it not to die) but while trying to remove the CVT cover, It cut off because I couldn't do both, keep it idled and remove the bolts. Please help, I really need to get running again. I'm about two seconds from getting this and being done with it. www.ebay.com/itm/161116535409I already wanted to upgrade anyway but my question is, will this fit my 50cc or do I have to get the 80cc kit?(my research says it will, but I heard a few things about going all the way up to 100cc...) It will help solve my spark problem if it's my coil at the same time as well. Also im getting a performance spark plug as well, any suggestions on the best one? Please help thanks.

Have you contacted nycscooterparts.com yet . There is a guy there John he can help . You have nothing to loose . John I looked on the website and the pics of the stators weren't detailed with mount sizes or a good enough angle to let me see the wires. If I can't find one in town I'll probably just call them and ask.

How about this one: What you have to worry about is the holes to mount it. Just use the plug on the 6 pole one. Reach in there with a small screwdriver and open the tab and pull the wire with it's connector and just swap plugs. Same wires 5 on both, 3 go to the R/R the two loose ones the blue goes to the Trigger slot on the CDI and the other is the power wire goes on the bottom of the 2 plug on the CDI. Alleyoop www.amazon.com/Magneto-Stator-8-coil-5-wire-Scooter/dp/B009SYXA7OWe'll if it's no problem getting an 8 pole one as long as it has the same wires then there's a few I can get. Now for the mounting holes... Most of them don't have the size listed and I don't wanna get one that doesn't fit. Will the 8 pole fit in my small flywheel being as though I had a six pole? Also I'm assuming it wouldn't blow anything because of more power than a six??? I guess I'll take measurements and ask the sellers to give me the measurements. Will update as soon as I get one. Thanks

Check the stator s on nycscooterparts.com John Thanks, I checked and they dont have my stator there. Also the bike shops aren't answering the phones and some of them are disconnected. I hope they're still in business. This is becoming worse by the minute. Can someone please share some info about my questions in my previous post about the buying a slightly different stator? Thanks in advance

So I purchased the tool and then I went to Home Depot to get the right sized bolts and washers and with a loud pop! The flywheel came off. After trial and error for the last few days, I really felt a sense of accomplishment. I sat there and celebrated for a few minutes with manly gibberish and mumbo jumbo, speaking random mechanical jargon and just laughing. One thing I'm upset about is ALL scooter shops in town are closed on Mondays, why, I don't know? But I'll see if I can pick one up tomorrow. Questions: It has to look exactly the same right? 6 coils and the same plug and wires? Could I not use an 8 coil if it had the same plug? Could I not use one that said 150cc when mines is a 50cc? Would this make too much power and blow my battery? Will another one not fit? Could I not just strip and connect the wires if only the plug tip is different but everything else is the same? **I'm asking because I've been searching on eBay and there are no stators with my plug tip that's the same as mines.**I'm gonna call the bike shop when they open today and ask if they have one like mines, but their price is usually two to three times higher than I can get on eBay. Help please. Here's a pic of mines. i55.photobucket.com/albums/g133/blacraven/5902EA82-91FC-4822-94A3-B6C9C3AA51EE_zpsjqzjccaj.jpgi55.photobucket.com/albums/g133/blacraven/295E5E2D-3269-4B99-9D15-62BB5FF68BEF_zpsutpe1bky.jpg

Thanks, I'll get it today. Funny thing is I had this in my hands and said to myself, the bolts were too thick. I thought of getting the right sized bolts, but I was scared I would strip the holes.
I'll get one and some bolts and update on the progress.

My model is a 139QMB, I'll make sure to match up the three wire adapter plug(green, white and yellow) And make sure it comes with the pick up coil.
I got the everything off except the flywheel. I got the nut off(no pun intended) lol But I need a flywheel puller. I went to pep boys about five times trying different tools but I think I'll have to order one off eBay, I really didn't want to wait for a delivery but they didn't have what I needed. The one they had that's close to what I saw on eBay didn't have the reversed threads to screw in.
Is there any other tool you know of that I can get from pep boys?

Thanks a million alley, I figured this. How do I figure out which stator to buy? And what is best or are they all the same?
On a side note: About the head and tail light... Will these work again when I replace the stator?

Here you go an excellent Video for testing what part is the culprit: First make sure you have a GOOD GROUND from the motor to the FRAME otherwise the testing will be for NOT. Also make sure your killswitch is on the run position and if your sidestand has a killswitch the side stand is up. Alleyoop Hello everyone, i've completed the test and here are the results. Please Help, I don't know what to make of all of it, I think maybe its the stator but I really don't know Thanks in advance for all your help. Multi-meter test results - 50cc 4 stroke Shanghai Beta (no spark) All test were done using his (guy in the video) recommended settings to the multi-meter *Note: all my Grounds at the CDI were fine.Black and White wire on the CDI from the run/stop switch with the ignition key turned to on doesn't beep (ground) with the run/stop switch clicked on or off. Only when I turn the ignition key off it beeps (ground) either way I switch it (I already knew this switch was faulty and I had to use the key to turn the bike off) Red and Black wire from the CDI heading into the stator coil reads .344 lower than he said it should which was between 430-630. Pick up coil resistance: Red and White wire which is Blue and White coming from the stator to the CDI does nothing to the meter. The primary… Black and Yellow wire on the CDI that goes to the coil showed .6 from the CDI to ground and .4 from the back of the coil ( Black and Yellow) to ground. I tested the front/ Green wire also on the coil and got .2 Crank test Black and Red wire on the CDI while cranking gives me 34.5 volts he said it should be between 65-90v ac The Red and White wire while cranking shows me .056 Resistance test From the bottom of the spark plug wire to the top terminals of the ignition coil is 7.86 with meter set to 20k
