Going to say one thing gy6er . If you want help here you're going about it in the wrong way. People here including myself donate their time to help those in need we don't just wait around and jump when someone posts needing help and for sure will not respond to remarks of being a looser. So if you want to give me some insight as to how or when this happened and can tell me if you know how to search for electrical problems then I can steer you in the right direction. Any more looser comments will not give you the results you want for sure. JR

Going to need some pictures of what you're trying to plug this in to? That way we can know for sure what you have? Also the plug that you mentioned that has 3 yellows and one white, where does those wires go to?

Just brought a 2007 gy6 tank motor, Oviously this ones a work in progress previous owner claimed he cleaned the carb but thats obviously a lie. Anyone have any info on gy6 tank 4 stroke cases? This engine has good compression at least i think she does plugged the carb spark plug hole partially plugged the exhaust was a tiny bit of pressure. Best $40.00 spent with the wheel. Most of the older tanks had the long case, give us the model number that's stamped on the engine. JR

It still could be possible that even without a real oil filter and using synthetic, (and even with the junk circulating through the system-- "defeating the purpose of synthetic") that a Gy6 could still last just as long or longer using synthetic, regardless of price point or recommended oil for a gy6. I guess we will never know. I agree that "earlier" oil breakdown vs dirty oil with no filter is a completely separate thing from a 500 mile oil change. I'll agree to that too and my whole thought was that I don't believe the GY-6 will do any better on synthetic and is over kill and wasting money. But I don't think it'll do worse either with one exception and I'm using personal experience on this. I've got a 2008 Bali 150 in my fleet of scooters and at around 3k I decided one day to do some experiments using different oils seeing if I could find one that would drop the engine temp. I did test after test, recorded the results, ran the exact same course, did the tests at same temp every day etc. I tried 5 different quality dino oils and 4 different synthetics. This scooter was in perfect running condition, used no oil and ran very well. Castrol dino oil was the best among dino oils and Mobile was the best among the synthetics. I decided to go with the Mobile. Long story short in two weeks the engine was leaking every where, had to pull it and completely replace every gasket in it. I read somewhere that this can happen with synthetic oil? Don't know if this was the real reason but it has Castrol back in it now. JR

Although having said that, I prefer oatmeal over grits. With brown sugar and maple syrup. But then the same addins work for grits too. Which isn't all that bad. Yes, I admit I'd be banned from the South for adding anything to my grits. Good thing I live in the Midwest instead. You're lucky I don't add bbq sauce to my grits. Now if you say you like nanner and mayo sandwiches I'll let you back in the south! JR
