On a positive note. the 2017 People 150S is said to pack 13.5 hp. They must be using the four valve Movie engine.

That one is not on their website - is it a non-USA model?

Kymco is like Smith & Wesson... As soon as they came out with a new gun everybody liked, they dropped it. Kymco does that too... Cheesh! I loved the Kymco 700cc "My Road" and it got dropped. Probably legitimately for poor sales, though. I'll never know why that beast didn't sell. You can STILL find NOS 700's on the floor as low as $4,000... A whole lotta scoot for the bucks! Suffice to say most everything Kymco is pretty good while they make it... LOL! Of course, they DID make my stone-age Grandvista for a LONG time... At least until they figured out only riders built like an orangutan (long waist, short legs and long fingers) were a "good fit" on 'em... Yeah, that's me but at least I had my tail removed... A 13.5 hp 150 is pretty exciting! Almost as much power as a Chinese 250! It should be everything the 150 rider wants, who so far has only wished for more than 10hp. Whatever you're ridin', enjoy the ride! Leo in Texas

I've been searching the web about scooters for weeks... funny I just came across this site with the announcement about the Super 8 50R. Just yesterday I noticed the Kymco official website had their 2017 models listed and the 50R was missing. Today I finalized the purchase of a new-old stock 2015 50R. I got a very good deal. The dealership said Kymco is discounting the old stock to clear it out and they had just received this scooter a few weeks ago, which is how I stumbled upon such a good deal. While I bought it today, I had been trying to locate a '15 or '16 for several weeks and the closest one was 50 miles away. They'll be delivering in the next week or two... delivery costs rolled into the sweet deal. I'm looking forward to it. The bike looks much nicer in person.

Kymco does make great scooters, but wow, have they thinned the herd. Only one 150cc now and the Movie is gone. I have a Like 50cc at the moment and while it's no barn burner it is well built. If I ever see a bargain on the Like 200 I just might snatch it up. The ride of my 50cc Like with more horsepower would be pretty compelling.

I would have liked to buy a Like - - however, I found my knees butting up against the "glovebox" door - I don't have this problem on the Super 8, as there is no glovebox... I'd LOVE a People GT 300i...or a SYM HD200...

NICE lookin' fifty! You're going to like the Kymco quality and reliability. And, those wheels are plenty big for a fifty. My guess is that unless it's speed-limited to the 35-mph "mandate" it will likely have more speed than the run-of-the-mill 50.
While bigger wheels are an improvement at high speed and on bumps, smaller wheels are not a "deal-breaker". My old Kymco 250 Grandvista has only 12" rims but with good tires and proper balance, the old girl "grooves" at 70-mph as well as my old Harley Electra-Glide used to. At 60-mph she's like sitting in an easy-chair. I have to stick my head past the windshield into the wind to keep from falling asleep... LOL! Enjoy your swell new ride! Leo in Texas

That's my scooter - except mine is the 150... So how do you like it? While there are a ton of positive Kymco reviews it seems the market really slowed down since the 2015 version came out... very few reviews from users of this new model. I figured since this redesign is based on the tried-and-true Agility platform this model should have Kymco's historical durability. I did notice the 2015 X version had a recall with hydraulics/brake issues, but it looks like the R was not impacted. FINALLY this bike will be delivered to me next Wednesday (I've been doing lots of traveling). Looking forward to it... unfortunately by the time it arrives we'll have a foot and a half of snow on the ground and highs in the low teens. I'll probably top it off with ninety three octane fuel and some Stabil and maybe remove the battery and bring that in house... it may be until April until I can really take this thing out.

I'd LOVE a People GT 300i...or a SYM HD200... That was the problem with the My Road 700 with the added handicap of being a BIG HEAVY bike for small people. Most that would consider one and could handle the ponderous weight hit their knees on the front fairing and glove box. Around here they had to basically give them away to get them off the showroom floor. The bike needed the seat to be an inch or so higher or the riding position set back a few inches to alleviate the cramped riding position.
