The multiple dislikes in this thread by shangrila seem a tad suspect. The intimidation potential of this Like/Dislike nonsense may be discouraging posting all views in a topic discussion.

This is a good thread to keep in my opinion as a warning to other vendors. From the way he operated and talked, I think he has done things like this before to get free stuff, so this might be a warning to other vendors to watch out. The email he uses for payment has that same "peascreek" in it, and also has studio in it too. So, other vendors, if you see a payment email with peascreekstudios in it, watch out, there is going to be some serious trouble.
His claim that he gave away the steering stem is suspicious. His posting on 49cc had said he had been looking for this elusive stem for a long time and could only find it with Scrappy, but with some modifications to the pivot shaft. I offered to help him find the exact match with my contacts with other factories, but he went on and on about a supposed 1mm difference in the clamp sizes. Less than one hour after he posted that he was giving away our steering stem for just the cost of shipping, he claimed it had already been sent to someone else. I believe he kept it and used it himself. The pictures he posted are gone now as well. I might be wrong, but sure is suspicious to me, and I'm glad this was his first and last purchase from us.

Thanks much. He started on his rampage on 49ccscooter forum, then after he got his full refund and kept the part for free, which I thought was a very good outcome for him, he came over here and started his rant saying we were unethical, etc. How is getting the part for free and getting a full refund being unethical? Fv(k that idiot,,, I've been jerked around a bit on parts,,and that ain't it, that BMW r80 I just bought is my 60th personal bike and I've worked on and built dozens,,, well into the hundreds so I've seen my share of parts counters and phone and internet sales,,, and as a side note there's two wooden wedges in my rollaway just to spread tree clamps open so I can insert fork legs,,,and anyone that hasn't had a hard time getting a leg into a new clamp is full of ,s&&t,,,the service / return you gave that clown was stellar,,, Jim said it "where's the beef?",,,it's the anonymity of the internet that fosters that stuff,,, you're a business man why wouldn't you want to make it right?

John After 4 divorces ,, a business partner that got me for a million two hundred thou and two beautiful hand crafted hot rods stolen and stripped I've had quite enough of thieves and non sense,,,enough of the whining and sniveling,,, scrappy did the honorable and correct thing,,, and even tho I never purchased as much as a washer from them anyone with half a brain can tell they are a good company in it for the long haul,,, just like you,,, and all the vendors that haunt the forums,,, they / you actually give a sh!!!t,,, rare nowadays but there's still a few of us around,,,I'm a specialty wood finisher by trade,,, and luck and a bit of talent has me booked anywhere from 3-6 months in advance at any given moment,,, all because my crew and I " give a sh!!!t"

I had mixed emotions about the dislike option when I put it on the forum. While anyone has the right to voice displeasure with someone the dislike option does give someone the potential to post untrue or negative things about others that may or may not be deserved thus the very reason I just removed the option. I've put it in the option of like someone one or don't say nothing at all.  JR |
