2008 Roketa 257cc been covered outdoors 4 months. Outside of charging the battery should I do anything else before I hit the start switch?

Check for critters?
I dunno, my Piggy sits inside for months at a time. All I do is unplug the Battery Tender Jr and start him up. But I suspect the mechanics here will have other advice for you. Stuff like drain the gas and stuff.
Oh, I do always use the blue gas additive so it doesn't go bad so fast.

If there were no known issues before you let it sat then I follow these steps:
Quick cleaning of the carb will ensure it will work like you got it.
Oil change to remove the old oil which may have started to degrade will ensure the condition of the engine stays well instead of pushing the old oil around which would cause unneeded wear on the cylinder and piston.
Add some Seafoam engine treatment to the gas (about 2 shot glasses worth for old gas) or drain and replace the gas depending on how bad it is.
Next time you plan to let it sit remove the battery and keep it on a maintainer, sitting around not charging or discharging is how I see a lot of scooter batteries die, not from use. For now just charge it and hope the cells haven't dried up and capacity is still good.
If the breaks are soft replace the fluids.

You probably could figure out a way to do it without taking it out, but don't let removing the carb scare you. I know mine is a half hour job to pull it out and clean it up, including pulling the tub to get at it. Be sure to mark the lines and hoses so they go back in the same place. Working on the carb is easier on a bench than it is in the bike.

Always remove the carb, you don't want to spray carb cleaner in the engine. Remove the rubber and plastic parts from the carb before using carb cleaner. Please look up a proper guide, I'm no teacher. : )

2008 Roketa 257cc been covered outdoors 4 months. Outside of charging the battery should I do anything else before I hit the start switch? Taildrag let keep this Super Simple. Its just fine you have limited knowledge, Experience and Skills so lets Keep this Super Simple is the BEST Policy. Try Starting the Darn thing before Tearing Into Anything.Tearing into all this Take your carb apart stuff is Most Likely in Vein. Have a can of Ether ( Starting Fluid) or Carb Cleaner and Gun that stuff into the intake and make it Run First Before Creating a Problem you Don't Have. Most Likely you have to do Nothing but Start and run it a Few Minutes to get Fresher Fuel into the Float Bowl(Carb). Theres Nothing Wrong with you engine Oil that it has Degraded in any way shape or form, this is Gross in misinformation. On the other hand I am Anal on keeping Good Fresh Oil in Everything I own just so you know were Im coming from. One Easy step at a time, Try to start it first and then we go from there . Keep It Simple, If ya Don't have to Take the Carb off Don't.!
