Well, on my 150cc gy6 (stock except for uni, exhaust and jets)I recently replaced my stock variator with a 115mm dmc variator. The variator came with 12g rollers so I decided to give those a try. It definitely feels like it revs higher than before. Not quite sure if I like it though. I weighed my old rollers and they were 17g!I'm guessing it would probably be best to go up a bit in weight to 13 or 14 but I'm not quite sure what to do. I got a cheap induction tach to see where I'm at rpm wise, but I'm not so sure it's accurate at all. Even though it feels like it's revving much higher than stock, it only reads like 6400 while accelerating and when going like 50. It tops out around 55 or so on flat, although i havent really had the chance to do a true top speed test. My stock set up had much lower rpm while accelerating and it felt like it had lower rpms at higher speeds too, it would top out around 55, maybe 57-58 under perfect conditions. Anyways, I'm a bit lost on where to go. From my tach readings it seems like my rpms are fine, and even a bit low, but from feel it seems like they're high! Thinking of maybe getting some 13-14g sliders idk

On my stock setup i definitely felt the ratios changing more, it would start kinda slow in rpms and build, now it winds up quick and seems to stay at like the same rpm while accelerating.

You confused me a bit.
You said stock and current rollers were at 17g, then said "need to go up a bit to 13 or 14". Wouldn't that be going down?
Anyhow, if the stock and new weights are the same, you wont necessarily have the same rpm/performance because you have a different variator.
Try going to 18-19g .
Some people equate "higher performance" with more revs, ect. Your 0-50 times may improve slightly with the new vari, but you'll lose fuel mileage, and it's just going to "feel" different.

Going up from the 12 gram rollers that came in the new variator to 13 or 14 may not be a bad idea however the 12 gram rollers in the Hoca that I put on my Lance Vintage made the variator more responsive to throttle changes and actually improved fuel economy, With weights that are too heavy the variator closes up too soon bogging the engine down causing low intake vacuum making it so fuel is not atomizing as finely which can drastically reduce your MPG.
In my case with a 250 lb rider 12 grams in a Hoca variator on a 150cc Lance Vintage ended up being the ideal combination.

I guess I'm gona try the 13g sliders. That should bring my rpms down a bit while still maintaining good off the line acceleration right? I like the acceleration of the 12s but it just feels like it's revving high, and my fuel consumption definitely went up. I was considering 14s, but I feel that's a bit high idk. I guess I'll see, found some dmc sliders to match my variator for 10 bucks which isn't bad at all, hopefully i like the feel of em and they don't wear out super fast. Figured it would be best to use the same brand sliders as my variator cuz I've heard of some sliders fitting weirdly in different brand variator even though they're still 18x14.

O.K., through the magic of editing the 7 to a 2 I have become unconfused....

But don't confirm that.

Sorry for the confusion powerzombie. I had 17g stock, but I put in a new variator that came with 12g rollers so that's what I currently have

Lol, the 17g came out of my stock variator, and the dmc variator I put in has 12s. So I'm looking to go up a gram from 12s hope that clears it up
