Hi guys my problem is when I decelerate on my throttle in any rpm range it backfires. I need to know is it too rich or lean. I'm running what's in my signature with stock 24mm Carb and unifilter.

Where you get the exhaust? The ebay exhausts will backfire due to leaks regardless of the jet

Backfires are always a LEAN condition, Check for air leaks especially by the FLANGE where it connects to the head. The studs and or nuts tend to come loose and sometimes even come right off. Then it blows the gasket out and it sucks in a lot of air. Also check around your carb by the intake manifold for cracks or the intake and head.

most the cheaper exhausts pop not really backfire they leak from the rivets

Yes they will pop on decel coming down on rpms but you can stop the popping.

opening the mixture screw will cut down on the de-accel popping.
Just don't open it so far it causes plug fouling at idle or performance loss.

now this is gonna sound silly as
but it really happened.
when i replaced my magneto last year
and got her running,
she'd backfire when i decelerated also
i followed everything Alley & JR and everyone told me
nothing worked
i then noticed i wasnt running a NGK plug
switched plugs
backfire stopped
