Just remember, keep it below 35mph or you'll be screwed for sure. They might be out to get you after you file that lawsuit, lol.

yeah with all the crime and a new murder every day you would think IPD and the prosecutor would use ther time better , the prosecutor could have done the right thing ther was plenty of time . Mike touchy and speed way scooters will tell you you don't need a Indiana lic so he can sell you a way overly priced scooter but when I asked him for help he got all pissed in fact told me he would not in any way help me instead his word to me was he would throw me under the bus . Well I stood my ground and took it all the way cost me plenty but I knew I was right . SPEEDWAY scooters suck mike will tell you he helped draft the new law but when I asked them for help he got all shitty with me . I won with out speedway scooters help . Last time I was at speedway scooters ther was 4 of us standing outside looking in the window it was about 1 pm and a kid was in side eating laughing at us . SPEEDWAY scooters on 16st in Indianapolis sucks !!!!

indiana law: all 50cc and under scooters must be registered, you do not need a "license" all other scooters must be plated as motorcycles, you need a license for these. if your license gets suspended, so does the registration on your 50cc REGARDLESS if you was riding it. your license was suspended for a reason, and that is to keep you from operating any motorized vehicle.
found something else out: apparently your indiana motorcycle permit NEVER expires because it too was suspended along with my license. whether that is some kind of screwup or not, i don't know. indiana motorcycle licenses never expire, as long as you can renew your operator license your MC license is renewed with it.
sorry about your legal woes. it seems to me that i would have plead no contest, then i would have gone about getting the evidence i needed to rectify the situation.
one other thing, city hall and its court appointed lawyers can make it really rough on you, some jurisdictions are really bad about this.

That's false. You can ride an under 50cc scooter in Indiana on a suspended license, as long as the requirements are met. That's what the law is designed around--- allowing people with susp licenses a way to work. It comes right out of the bill's author's mouth: www.indystar.com/story/news/2014/10/22/moped-scooter-riders-indiana-face-tighter-rules/17739855/You can register an under 50cc with a susp license.

i no longer own a 50cc, and this law was enacted after i got rid of mine so i'm not too up on it. it seems to me that if it was the judges intent to provide you a way to work, then he would have authorized it. the law sucks, and it sucks for a reason. honestly though, the judge isn't doing you, nor anyone else any favors by putting you out there on state roads on a 50cc.

That law still appears to be describing the 2 or 3 hp 49cc bike which is capable of 35mph or less which does not describe the almost 6hp SR50. The Drunk Cycle in most areas is restricted to below 25mph and is more like a motor assisted bicycle. If I were Mr Tockney and helped pen the new law to allow liquor cycles to be ridden by those that need to get to work but do not have a valid drivers license I would not support a case involving using an SR50 under that provision since it falls outside the intent of that particular law.
Indiana is a bit over the top allowing Liquor Cycle to be applied to a 35 mph bike giving drivers who through their own habitual law breaking and misconduct have lost their privilege to drive a motorized vehicle. I would not want a habitual law breaker riding a power assisted bicycle at over 20 mph in my town around my wife and children that is for sure.

Yeah, I'm assuming the "under 2 horses" is still a requirement for the scoot/moped to still be legal. Anything over 2hp would be illegal regardless of speed.
Before the new law it was: 1) under 2 horses, 2) under 25/30mph on flatland, and 3) under 50cc

The obvious solution is to simply require ALL motorized scooters to be treated EXACTLY like any other type of motorcycles, problem solved.
