Hi all my question is which size torque spring would you all think would work best for a 245lb. Rider in heavy traffic? The scooter has what in my signature installed on it. I don't know what rate the clutch springs are but they came on the ncy performance clutch. I have a good topend speed of 48 GPS and would like to increase it or keep it the same. There are not many hills around here but a couple overpasses.

You can accomplish the same results dropping down to 5 gram weights. All the torque spring is going to do is require higher rpms to open it up to drop the belt down and keep the belt up on the clutch pulley with less rpms. Either way higher rpms will be required to keep your top end speeds. Alleyoop

for me the 1.5k springs hold the rpms better on hills, with stock spring the rpms would drop quickly on a hill, with the stiffer spring it seems to drop way slower on a hill over stock which provides better hill climbing power and speed

if you put a stiffer rated spring in then put heavier weights in you defeat the purpose of a stiffer spring

I think I'll try a 1k spring and a new gear set and scrappydawg performance head

The stiffer springs holds the belt tighter and the rpms drop slower resulting in stronger hill climb power

I've tested it, i ran two gram less weight with stock spring and the max rpms was the same as with two grams more with the 1.5k spring. The rpms drop very quickly on hills with the weaker spring my scoot would drop from 7900 rpm at wot to around 5900 on a steeper hill with stock spring, with the 1.5k spring my rpm drops from 7900 to 6500 on the same hill and i can climb it at least 5 mph faster with the stiffer spring
