I've already got a Tao Tao Roman 150cc. I mainly got it for my wife to ride. However, she's afraid of it due to it's engine and physical size. The other problem is that we live in Michigan, the state with pretty much the highest insurance for vehicles. A 50cc here just requires a $15 3 year sticker. No insurance.
Any good suggestions?

I'd check out Bintelli and Wolf scooter websites. They are built by Znen and have upgraded components and a dealer network and warranty. I've owned both brands and the 50cc models are about $900 plus about $150 frt and set up.

Keep in mind a 49cc 4 stroke has a hard time maintaining speed on any kind of hills. They are good in the city but have a hard time keeping up with traffic. Be prepared to get passed by cars a lot

Why don't you check out 49 cc Ice bear trikes I got a 300cc Trike for my wife can't keep her off of it she loves it.

Look around a bit, this time of year you might get lucky and find a Honda Metropolitan for about $1,000.
