I once "borrowed" a fuse from the wifes scoot. She still brings that up.
*Can't see how it's the carb, but think you are doing good eliminating things.

Hello Scripting, I have the exact same symptoms as you, going on 2 months now. I have a QMJ157 engine in a Chinese model. Below is what I have unsuccessfully tried:
1. checked valve adjustment, looks good 2. replaced AC CDI 3. cleaned carb, it is clean and float spring looks good 4. tried driving with gas cap off, no change 5. replaced petcock twice, no change 6. removed petcock and installed manual switch, no change 7. drilled 2 small holes in top of gas, no change 8. replaced all vacuum tubing, no change 9. replaced fuel filter, no change 10. replaced stator and pickup coil, no change 11. replaced coil, no change 12. removed PAIR system, no change
I think that's about it. Very frustrating to say the least, each day that goes by without a chance to scoot. Latest I have read/been told my problem is either the pickup coil or rectifier. I do not know much about rectifier nor have been able to find where mine is located, but will replace, not much to lose at this point.

WOW jugdish! what the heck is going on with our scooters Now what am I supposed to try Please report back if the rectifier or pickup coil helps your issue. Here's a video I found regarding the rectifier if it helps you: and this 1 which might be a little better:

Thanks for the video Script. Yeah, this is a tough one. The pickup coil didn't change things, had to walk it home 3 blocks yesterday. Gonna get a rectifier and report back. I have been told it's location is up by the ignition/kill switch.
mftic-will try to check the kill switch, I'm not the most electronically proficient person!

I updated the 1st video, it's a better video of where the rectifier could be located. I'm gonna "borrow" the rectifier off my wife's scooter soon as I can to see if it helps.

It's worth a shot to swap it out. I was told on the phone by someone at ScrappyDog, although not an expert but knowledgeable, it sounded like a pickup coil or rectifier problem. Only thing is, all I have read online about rectifiers would be a charging issue, i.e.-lights not working, draining battery. I'm wondering if low current would mean low spark? I have had my headlight running low, flickering recently, but figured it was about time to change the bulb.

That's what I was thinking too, about the rectifier relating more to a charging issue after watching a few more videos .....but...I recently had my front head light blow out and it melted into the plastic harness. I replaced the harness and got a new bulb. Maybe the rectifier took a hit too. We might be onto something. Gotta get away from the wife so I can steal some parts of her scooter lol

I sent Mo, from Scrappydogscooters an email. I've purchased parts from them and was told he is a guru and to send him an email. I'll pass along his answer. If need be, set alarm for 2 am to swap parts undetected!

Mo from Scrappydog suggested double checking for spark after the scooter dies, (which I have not done for some reason) and if spark is present, suggests its a carburetor issue. If you could swap your wifes carb to yours and run it, that would be terrific. They are real quick to take out. I've got stripping down the scooter down to like 2 mins now.
So, I'm going to get the scooter to sputter and die, check for spark and also check the float level. I believe the tube hanging from the bottom of the bowl has a screw in it. If I take the screw out, gas should come out. If not, that's a sign.

Man....... if you notice me not responding to this post any longer, then you can assume she found out what I'm up to! I did get her carb installed in my scoot but don't have time to test right now. I'll do my best to test Wed or Thursday after work. Fingers crossed, hope to make it to the gas station and back I've used scrappydog for parts before too, I'll order a carb from them next day if this test is successful.

I'm sad to report, borrowing her carb did not resolve the issue. I also borrowed her scooters rectifier and that did not make a difference.
I'm not sure where the screw is to check to see if gas is in the bowl or not. I looked around and googled it but still not sure. I'll have some time on Saturday to operate if I have suggestions on what to do. ...after I put my wifes scooter back together

I believe this is the line you are looking for. Should be on the left hand side bolted to the frame. Screw on the end. If i'm wrong someone else please correct me.

Ok. I did find that line and I didn't know what is was. I pulled the cable off the end instead of taking the screw out. Gas did come out upon first inspection. What does that mean?
Although, I can't say that gas got back in there since I couldn't get it started again. Maybe gas couldn't get back in there due to a choke somewhere.
Why is that hose bolted to the frame, since it seems to not go anywhere? Is it strictly for troubleshooting?
Tomorrow I can empty the line and see if it starts. If it does, I'll see how it acts and see if fuel gets back in there.

My understanding <once again someone correct me>
Run scooter until dies, unscrew fuel line screw. At the least, residual gas from the line itself will come out. MORE than that will come out if fuel is getting to the carb and the float bowl is full, (bowl actually holds quite a bit of fuel). After all that gas comes out...one last test will be to hit the starter button for a few couple seconds...more gas should come out hose as the float bowl is trying to fill back up. I don't know an easier way nor a better way to explain.
-in your video i didn't hear any stumbling before cutting out, only reason i don't think it is a gas issue. If gas was getting there then not....motor should start to stumble from lack of fuel before quitting. ?
