Yep New part mailed yesterday, will arrive Friday. What caused it to break? Bad welding? Excessive vibrations? My theory: Was going 60 or 65 when i hit a bump & went airborne. No big deal - normally just hit the road, shock absorber takes the jolt, on you go. But i think that's when the weld broke. So why? I think because of the single, offset rear shock absorber - causing an offset force that torqued the engine, putting too much force on the swing arm (hanger). The reason i think this is because the engine is offset and tilted just as you would expect from a force on the left side, where the single shock is. Thinking it's a good idea to add a right-side swing arm and a second shock absorber so everything is balanced.

as i mentioned earlier on in this thread,,,the chassis will be and is the weak link in this build now,,,everyone gets caught up in HP numbers and completely overlook torque ,,even by Dans admission on another similar build the chassis exibited weakness and was overwelmed by the mill,,,if it was my bike i'd be giving the frame ( the welds in particular) the real long look and i would be considering a few judicously placed gussets and adding welds here and there to stiffen up the frame,,,i think your gonna need it,,,

"I wish you were close to Boston, we'd have so many projects man" I grew up outside of buffalo,,,i did my winter time,,now it's warm and sunny time,,Lain,,,,but if we lived close i'd be happy to help on any build,,,i've done dozens,,,no scooters tho thats why i'm here,,,,to learn,,,,stuffed alot of high hp mills in little stuff,, ( my alltime fave was 914 porsches with v8 chev engines),,,,chassis and suspension probs inevitably show themselves when you start pushing farther than design intentions,,,RCQ is on the right track,,once the chassis and suspension gets sorted the bike will be awesome!!!! i'll bet it will top 80mph without too much trouble,,,with a real comfortable cruise 65-70,,,and he won't have to worry about the thing blowing up

OT I realize, but does one of those torque monsters beat a Tesla off the line? I've seen YouTube vids against high end sports cars, but not an alter to the gods of torque, curious if the Tesla can match?

OT I realize, but does one of those torque monsters beat a Tesla off the line? I've seen YouTube vids against high end sports cars, but not an alter to the gods of torque, curious if the Tesla can match? There are several supercar manufacturers who have no copied the thing, but the first performance hybrid was "Le ferrari" (that's it's name) by Ferrari. auto.ferrari.com/en_EN/sports-cars-models/car-range/laferrari/I've forgotten the specs a bit, but the car has the standard 12 cylinder engine (something like 750 or 800 BHP at the wheel) PLUS an electric motor. BUT - they didn't design it for gas consumption, but used the electric motor to fill in the torque curve of the gas engine. Total equiv HP is over 1,000 if i recall, and the flatness of the torque curve is bizarre. Unfortunately, it costs even more than one of P-Guy's freakish builds ..... !!!!!!
NOTE: click on "specifications", then click on "Start Engine". Have your speakers "ON".
Fun!

I rode one of the Zero m/x'rs and some electric Karts at a industry function in Cali. The Linear power made ya giddy at first. But was tricky in corners maintaining corner speed. had to change up the line as to not scrub off so much speed. Depends how a individual defines fun, overall it was less fun, but thats me. I loath traction control, My traction control is in my clutch and throttle hands. Love coming outa a corner and launching the front end vertical. hang the back end out and do it. but again that what I call fun. and I still dunno what I wanna do when I grow up.
