I had two jobs to do today, a honda elite 80 that i had no knowledge about and a 52mm scrappy kit. The honda elite job sucked was hard to get to anything on it and the carb is toward the back, got it running though, but was a pain. The 52mm kit was a nightmare, forgot how rough that kit is to install, the rings are stiff and hard as to compress to get it over the jug. I cut my fingers up and bled all over it, i had the battery on the charger, a trickle charger and the mofo exploded in my face. I felt ill for a bit, but recovered and kept going after getting fresh air. I got it finished around 10pm, it started right up, i changed the oil adjusted the valves, put a 24mm carb on it and it ran fast and strong. Then it went all bad again i went to check the oil and the damn oil shot out the the hole and sprayed me in the face, hot oil to the face isn't cool, the valve cover vent hose was blocked. I got paid but i sure earned my money today

Jeez Millsc! Nightmare on scoot street! Please watch the oil, but especially the batteries. (that stuff can blind you) Hope tomorrow things work out better. Maybe you should let the docs check you out? (just to be on the safe side.)

Yeh. We really don't want to hear that you really hurt yourself. Gotta take care of yourself. Net to make that job one.

I know they might be a PITA but the next time you're doing this have some safety glasses or goggles on (no amount of money is worth your sight ) P.S. you can get some that flip over your glasses too. As you found out the hard way some of your customer's scoots (and parts) may not be in the best condition.

Some of the batteries on China scoots may not be (obviously) in the best shape. (if I were you I'd just assume they're a square shaped M-80.)

Well I hope tomorrow is easy-peasy-breezy (you deserve it) This is one of the reasons I got a Lithium-Iron battery. No explosive gas, no acid, no problem. (Just not cheap... but you can't put a price on piece of mind.) Anyway, I hope tomorrow goes smoother than a greased eel.

Full face shield is really in order when setting up a battery on a charger. I know we don't usually use one but it is best practice.
Lesson to remember on the dip stick. Crack it open and pause a moment when the bike has recently been running or still warm/hot to vent any pressure in the crankcase so it does not blow out on you.
