Any ideas why my cvt belt would break again on my 150cc gy6 after only 3 weeks of being replaced? Ofc I got the cheapest chinese belt I could find but i want to say that a chinese belt should last at least a year.

I believe you had gates belts break too, right ? If so , you have a CVT issue. For some reason you have either belt slippage , or bad tranny bearings causing too much tension on the belt. How are the plastic v-slide guides holding up ? If they are not broken or cracked , I'd lean towards slippage. If they are broken , I'd say you have tranny bearing issues.

Ive only changed the belt once and I couldn't tell the brand of the old one. I think that I may have some tranny issues too. The v guides are on the variator right? if those are the v guides they are fine. I have not however checked or added any gear oil ever

Next , buy a good gates belt. I've have a cheap Kevlar no name belt brake in exactly 300 miles. Most cheap belts are just that, cheap belts. Its better just to cut them and wear them around you waist . lol.

I believe that tool fits into the holes on the variator fan , then you can use a socket and wrench to take the variator off. You can probably use it with the clutch also. Measure the holes on the variator . how far apart are they ?
