I did once, in the middle of the highway  One of the fuel lines broke and I didn't notice until the tank was empty, I was driving home in one of the main highways, luckily it was late in the night so there wasn't much traffic; I had to push the scoot almost 3km to the next gas station, patch the fuel line and fill the tank. |

I haven't run out of gas but, shortly after buying my scooter new, had about 300 miles on it the float stuck open and flooded the carb, to the point gas was coming out the overflow tube and scoot wouldn't stay running. This was while driving down a main road luckily wasn't during rush hour.

I ran out of gas about half a block from the gas station i was on my way to and just coasted silently right up to the pump

Just a few weeks ago I ran out of Gas on my Yamaha SMAX. It's only a 155cc, but I assure it's every bit as heavy as a GY250cc. Had to push it for about a mile.... Reason I ran out of gas was when I installed my phone mount, I didn't realize with my phone in the holder it would block the fuel gauge.... Suffice to say, the mount has been relocated.  |

I've been lucky enough to run out of gas at the top of a hill, just coasted down to a service station at the bottom.

Near the end of last winter, I knew I needed gas but I also had to warm up the engine. Got half a mile there and ran out, had to push it another half mile. Now I keep a tank of gas in my basement that I change out with new gas every few weeks when I decide to use it instead of going to the station or cuz it's sunday and Shell isn't open on Sundays around here.

I ran out of gas a few times last year because I was in no hurry to fix my gas gauge. Not a big deal unless you forget to check the tank or just plain space it off, lol.
I had to push it a couple miles to a closed gas station, after taking the back way into town after work. I got about 7 cents out of the hose--- it was enough to make it across town to a gas station that was open.

I have run the scoot dry three times. Soon after buying put exactly 1.00 gallons in a can, ran the bike until about empty, circled until dry, put in the gallon, the few hundred feet to the pump, refilled the gas can and my tank -- 2.13 gallons. About a week later I did it again, just to verify the tankage -- 2.13 gallons again.
A year later, going on a trip. I know I get 67.5 mpg, average. I have a 2.1 gallon tank. Tanked up in Hawthorne, the 24-hour truck stop in Buttonwillow is 130 miles away. I figured 70+ mpg. WOT is not good -- I only got 60 mpg. Yep -- that is 126 miles, 4 miles short. And 4AM is lonely on the side of the Interstate. Cellphone and AAA card, the guy didn't even charge for the pint of gas.

I ran out of gas a few times last year because I was in no hurry to fix my gas gauge. Not a big deal unless you forget to check the tank or just plain space it off, lol. Some gas stations have pumps that if you do SOS in morse code with the pump nozzle handle lever it will pump free gas and bill it to the state. Might be a myth, my friend who manages a gas station on the highway told me about it, but I'm not about to try to get free gas when I can drop pocket change to get anywhere lol. |

I didn't think anything of it until he started asking me where I was coming from (lol). I just assumed she added the gas on to the smokes (it was late and I was the only person there). My fault. Nothing happened, they just followed me to the gas station to make sure I paid. |

How did gas come out if you didn't pay? lol Around here you have to pay the clerk, wait for like a minute, then start gassing up. Cards don't even work around here for small amounts, if it works it stays in hold in your account for a month, or put a hold of $100 on your account for a few weeks, which is not pleasant because you only used $2, it's like forced savings you get back a month later. |

There are a few gas stations that aren't pre-pay around here. Out of 11 gas stations, I'd say 8 or 9 aren't pre-pay.

I ran out of gas once at the end of a hill once.It was the longest push to the top where a gas station was.

I was needing to use a tool from a friend, we passed etch other on my way to his house, He handed be his garage door opener! I forgot to get gas. The scooter died in his driveway! I found his empty 1.5 mower gas can, and drain every drop out of it. It was just enough to get me to up 2 huge hills to the station!
