Well so much for finishing tuning my K&S variator tonight. I was on a test run with 14 gram weights in " rpms finally came down a little but still too high " I was cresting a hill at around 7000 rpms and nearly 50 mph , next thing I see was a beast of a deer crossing about 20 ft in front of me. I hit the deer dead center and pretty much stopped dead, flew to the right and sorta hit and rolled . I did have time to grab both brakes and slow down to I'm guessing around 35 to 40 mph . luckily my scoot drove back , but with some busted plastic , broken headlight lens , Colling fan scoop and side engine shield busted off ,and a broken front brake lever. I have a sore and scraped up knee , luckily I had my helmet on , I felt it hit the ground. My right hand is scraped up and sore. But all and all I think I'm fine . my knee is starting to really hurt but I think its OK.
I'll post some pics of the scoot in a bit , I have to get some ice for my knee.

Ive gotten so use to running fast on these back roads , even though there are a lot of deer. I've come close a few times but u never really expect it to happen, lol. I figures it would be a monster deer, lol. Its one of those things where you hit the ground and you don't feel to much for a couple seconds. I actually laid there for a couple mins , after the pain hit. Then the pain begins to fade , but about 40 mins later the pain returns and you start to feel pain in places you don't remember hitting, lol. I'll be pretty sore when I wake up I'm sure. I'm really surprised how good the scoot held up . the steering wasn't messed up , mainly just plastic damage. I'm guessing the front wheel hit the deer between the front and back legs , with the main impact taking place around the headlight area, then as the scoot fell on its right side , the side floor board and the fan shroud with scoop still attached broke off. My right fog light stopped working also. I'm just really surprised how good the scoot held up. It doesn't actually look too bad. [/URL . . .

You can see the deer hair on the first pic below and to the side of the headlights in the blue. The funny thing is I can still smell the deer, lol. The deer hair is like two inches long or more ! Maybe it was Bigfoot ?

Glad that you are OK!
Now that the you hit the ground with your helmet, buy a new helmet!
It can have microscopic cracks. When I crashed my insurance company said I had to change helmet and they paid for a new one.

I thought I could outmaneuver a bad driver, but there's only about 20 feet between a left turn lane and the curb, and when they hit the gas, they can cover that distance in just a second or two. That's way faster than I can stop at 40mph.

Some people get into collisions with deer in a car and don't survive, and you were on a 2 wheeler! You can fix the scoot later, it's just a bunch of broken plastic it sounds like, but take care to get yourself fixed up and inspected first! You feel okay right?

Other than some sore spots like my knee , and right forearm , I think I'm alright. I started to get a slight headache last night about 45 mins after the crash , but It went away after I took some ibuprofen. My lower back is hurting at times , but nothing major. Yeh its mostly plastic damage. I've already been pricing some of the parts. Hopefully I'll be able to buy some next week. I need the fan shroud to be able to run the scoot . without it she'll over heat. The headlight assembly will be another pretty important part. After those two pieces the rest is mainly cosmetic.
