jerseyboy Same here. My pops was a pro drag racer until his early 30s, so growing up we were always tinkering with motors of some sort or another. He had to get on to me more times than I can remember for sniffing the gas. My first exp with a top fuel dragster was getting to closes to it when they fired it of with the nitro methane. I was literally touching the rear tire. At first I thought it was funny that all the crew put on gas masks. I soon found out why after they fired it off. Holy crapsickle that stuff is TOXIC! Lit both my eyes and lungs on fire. I was expecting something like the smell of CAM2 race fuel (another of my fav smells)..Boy was I ever wrong. That was a lesson you only have to learn once. With exp you can get a really good idea of how a motor is running (lean/rich) by the exhaust. I never check my plugs. I instead smell the exhaust at idle and at cruising RPMs.

Klotz Benol is the best smelling two cycle oil in the world.....anybody with 2 stroke 50's should try it at least once,,using it too long can cause the head and exhaust to gum up a little,,thats why its a racing oil,,those motors come apart quite often to be cleaned....but the smell of it is worth a little gum on the inside of the head IMO. It lubes better than synthetic also,,attracts right to the hot spots and does its job...bean oil

I think the little fellow's little dirtbike is adorable. Here's all the big boys with their big toys, and here's this little kiddo with his bike competing against them.
I'd make an awful judge. I would've voted for the kid's, just 'cause of cuteness and 'cause he was willing to go up against the grownups. Gumption counts for a lot with me.

Hey Shannen
Yesterday JerryScript admonished us to not make personal insults (another thread, not this one). Maybe he was speaking about someone else, but it got me to worrying:
I'm hoping, when you read my "exhaust sniffer" comment you chuckled and didn't feel insulted. If it came across different than I meant i apologize.
