I know for many people it's nerve wracking to purchase a scooter online. I recently purchased my new Znen Lance Phoenix 150cc from Power Ride Outlet. I ordered it on 12-29-14 and received it today, 1-9-15. Here's a quick video of the delivery itself so you can see why you need to be sure you have lift-gate service included in your purchase: As you can see, no damage to the box. Interesting thing, the box has no bottom! Here are photos of the stages of unboxing, which goes as follows: 1- Remove outer plastic wrap 2- Remove box 3- Remove accessory items (trunk, mirrors, windshield, battery - note: start charging battery right away) 4- Remove interior plastic wrap 5- Remove top bolts from metal frame - note: pieces only bolted to top and bottom must be supported to prevent falling 6- Remove any connecting straps or brackets from top of frame to handle bars or trunk rack 7- Remove all vertical metal frame pieces - note: be careful, don't let them scratch your new ride! 8- Remove any lower straps or brackets connecting scooter to lower frame or pallet 9- Remove bike from lower frame/pallet - note : get help, don't take chances on removing it and dropping it! 10 - Clean up packaging and begin PDI Open top - left side view Open top - front view Open top - right side view Box removed - left side view Box removed - front view Box removed - right side view Box removed -rear view Plastics removed -left side view Plastics removed -front view Plastics removed -right side view Plastics removed -rear view Frame removed -left side view Frame removed -right side view Front-Right view Front-Left View Put the kids away! Scooter porn time! See next post for PDI details. (Note- uploading all these pics and vids is taking awhile, will post more when the uploads finish)

PDI Note - I had forgotten to put my battery together and throw it on my charger, so I did it before starting the PDI on the rest of the bike. Took about 3 hours to charge on my B&D charger, took me that long to complete PDI so no big deal. 1 - Visually inspected exterior - two very small scratches on luggage rack, will be covered by trunk so no biggie2- Inspect wheels and brakes - front brake is completely weak, will have to check everything and bleed3- Remove body panels - note: take your time, be patient and don't break anything - note: keep track of screws, nuts, and bolts, I put back in holes when possible - note: not happy I have to remove battery and all lower panels to work on engine4- Check all screws, nuts, and bolts, loctite where necessary, check for rust around fasteners and welds - three loose5- Check all wiring and connectors - all look good, my add some silicon on some later6- Check all hoses, vacuum lines, and control hardware - stock hoses look good, will give them a month and re-inspect before replacing (never replaced on my 2012 Znen, these two models seem to come with good quality hoses)7- Check valve clearances and inspect chain and cam shaft bearings - exhaust was at 0 tight, reset to .0058- Check CVT - will weigh the rollers later, couldn't find my old scale9- Replace all body panels - wow, no leftover screws, nuts, or bolts, I'm feeling lucky right now!10 - Install mirrors and set base position - will fine tune positioning on the road during first ride11- Install windshield and trunk - haven't decided if I want the trunk on yet, no storage under seat so may have to12- Drain/Replace oil and tranny gear oil - do the Chinese know the dif between veggie and motor oil?13- Install battery and check lights and horn and gauges - all working, will replace signals and brakes with LEDs later14- With key off, step down slowly on kickstarter to ensure engine is not siezed or blocked in some way - kickstarter is a bit tight15- Moment of truth, turn key on, pull in brake, pray, press starter - IT STARTED INSTANTLY!!! YEAHHHH!!! - note: they must have done a dealer's PDI, bit of gas in tank, didn't have to prime carb16- Loving the big 16" wheels! Not as agile as my 10" scooter, but a whole lot smoother! I don't want to get off, I don't care if it is dark and it hasn't been registered yet!

Congrats on your new scoot! It's actually a pretty darned good looking machine !!!!!!!
Now, I (and others) know you are a novice to all of this, so if you have any questions or need any advice, just ask.
I recommend you put real oil in your machine at some point.
ps: started right up? I thought you bought it online (in which case it was probably not touched by the dealer but shipped directly from the importer to you. That said, I'm thinking Znen finally stepped into the 20th or even 21st century and is using an electric fuel pump. Yippee !!!!!!!!
pss: I suggest you replace the valve cover before riding too far
psss: Vegas. We don't need no stinkin registration!

Very nice , I also like the bigger wheels, what model engine does it have ? R u panning on any engine mods. Also would like to eventually know a top speed with the bigger wheels. If u can would u measure the diameter of the wheels ? I'm curious how much bigger they are then my 13" with the 130/70/13 . my back wheel is about 3/4 inch from the back of my engine case .

The 130/70 look a good bit bigger then the 130/60 . the first is a pic with the 130/70 . I also had to raise my front fender for the 130/70 to fit. .

I originally wanted the burgundy model, but I'm liking this darkish blue metallic look, and the wheels man! I did buy it online, and Power Ride Outlet states they do a PDI, which they must have because there was some gas in the tank. They didn't do a valve adjustment, but I took care of that. And of course I changed the oils before even turning the engine over once! Hmmm, valve cover, knew I forgot something!

It has the BN157QMJ-3, with all the weird parts, but I live near Scrappy's so that's not an issue. I like the look of the larger rubber on yours, fills in the spaces nice and has a strong look to it. This one has 110/ -16 on back, 110/80-16 on front. The rear can't take much if any more, it's right up against the fender as is. When it comes time to change rubber, I might try a on front as well. I've got to find a measuring tape, kids never put things back, then I'll give you the outer diameter of each. Not planning on a BBK yet, doesn't seem like you get much with boring, and that's something I won't do for at least a year (who knows). I will mod the CVT as much as I can with available parts, the variator is non-standard for 150cc so I don't know if there is a performance one. Not sure if they even make sliders that will work. I believe the clutch is standard, but the drive gears are definitely not. For now, and advancing angle CDI, NGK plug, and tuning the CVT are my main priorities. Then I'll let the ride determine where I need to go from there. I won't be doing a top speed run for several days, will be taking rides varying the speed as much as possible for a few days to let the rings set it. I'll post my top speed stock once the engine is run in.

My scoot has been stuck on the porch all week . I don't want to take a chance with icy RDS and 2 degree weather . even though I am considering to take her out in a few hrs , not sure

JerryScript very interesting #7 step , I often get phone calls with performance problems . I ask about #7 the answer is its brand new with 3 digit millage or less . I tell them that should be checked before putting gas in it . YOU GET A HIGH 5 FOR #7 !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! John

I'm wondering how the delivery service stays in business. One scooter crate, two boxes probably going to the same place (based on that the boxes are identical), one metal tank, and possibly a small box behind the tank. So, four deliveries for this guy? Sheesh! Good looking scoot! And you're already taking good care, which should help you get more miles of riding from it. >'Kat

Driver was nice, didn't seem overworked, maybe he had an easy day. Either way, I'm happy!
