I've got a 50cc chinese scoot that I've been fixing up as a christmas gift, but the scoot starts up then shuts off. I've replaced numerous parts in it (due to poor parts in the scooter):
Fuel valve replaced, replaced carburetor, replaced ignition coil, replaced CDI, replaced the battery
The scooter now shuts on then shuts off. As the scooter shuts off, I notice the tail light flickering in sync with the engine dying, I'm not sure if this is a sign of an electrical problem or if this would be common with a fuel issue.
The scooter has 3300 km on it.

Could be a fuel delivery issue, or a thermal short circuit, among other things. If you could post a video, or describe what happens when it is cutting off, we might be able to diagnose the issue.

I agree with the thermal short. However, I suspect the trigger coil. They can heat up and then fail. Since it does it when it's hot it would be just about impossible to test. However, you can test the AC voltage coming from the coil and it should be around .05v AC. If it was mine I'd order a new trigger coil and swap it put.

Check or replace your vacuum hoses. With the parts you have replaced it sounds like a fuel issue. If the carb was not new clean the jets. Pay special attention to the idle jet. The small holes in it get clogged easily.

Since u replaced the carb you will need to tune it in properly or it will not idle right or at all.
