The claim that the beads are indestructible also did not hold true as one set broke apart and left a mess to clean up however I do not remember if that was Equal or Dynabeads. The reusability claim is also not eternal. Their website answers the question; "Can I reuse my Dynabeads?" with; "Sure! But only once." Dealers used to claim otherwise.

wow, you completely lost me there. let me draw you a diagram to easily explain it What is the outer diameter of a 4.00-12 tire? This is a 2 part tire number, not three. Also, what determines the width of the rim the tire will fit on? How do I determine if a tire will fit on the rim width I have?

I installed Dynabeads in my scooter tires when it had just miles on the clock. Used a 6" C-clamp to break the bead, inserted a short piece of hose in the space right near the clamp, and poured the beads through a funnel, and into the hose. Pulled the hose out, removed the C-clamp, and pumped the tire up. Did this with tires/wheels on the scooter. 3000 miles later, picked up a nail with rear tire. Purchased a new one...removed beads from original tire, and put them in the new one. Fast forward 2300 more miles....rear tire is nearly bald...evenly worn, but shot (damn Kenda) Time to replace it again. After breaking the beads, and removing one side of tire from rim, I used a teaspoon to extract the Dynabeads, and put them in a small container. They still look fine, not all clumped up, or reduced to powder. Didn't put them into the last tire I purchased, thought I would try running without them....see if I get any strange vibs, or bouncing......400+ miles, and so far so good. I have saved and will re-use the Dynabeads at a later date Point is...I have run these in two tires, and they look as they did when I bought them, back in April 2012....hillbillybob

I think most motorcycle tires are made to tighter tolerances than typical car tires? I guess because a blowout can tend to be more fatal on a bike. Probably more of a chance that they'll be close to balanced than with a car tire. I'll probably give the beads a try. As rockynv points out, repair patches could affect performance and if you spray any kind of goo in your tire, the beads become useless & you'll have to add weights.

Update: Got my new 80 series tire in, to replace my old 70 series, and put it on myself, including a new valve stem. It's not much harder to put on than a bicycle tire and the bead popped on nicely without a fuss. One warning for people wanting to put on larger tires: You may have plenty of room around your current tire, installed, but remember you have to slide the tire onto the hub from the side. I barely got mine on, as the oil dipstick tube was in the way. I almost had to flatten the tire to clear it. Fortunately I got away with giving it a bump and knocking it on. The result? I like it. My off the line takeoff is slightly weaker but once it kicks in, the acceleration seems as good as it was before, and my top end is about the same as yesterday with the old tire. I'm still in my excellent torque and horse power range. I like the way it feels, a little stiffer somehow, and hopefully I have avoided any problems. Thanks everyone for your advice and help.
