Can any one tell me what's the difference between rolls or sliders in my variator? I list of Pros VS Cons would be a great help. Thanks in advance.

You cannot beat SLIDERS provided they are DR. Pulley Silders. Alleyoop

Slider allow your variator to open more fully for better take-off and close it more completely for better top end speed, are not as prone to flattening which allows them to last longer and have a better contact patch with the ramp plate.
Get the Dr. Pulley and the only negative I can think of is that you may use more gas from leaning into the throttle and taking advantage of the better performance along with from riding more often. On some variators the belt may ride out far enough to rub the CVT case which you would resolve by adding a 1 mm thick machined washer between the boss and the drive face.

I have a Hoca variator and the belt (with rollers) already goes all the way to the edge. Any more and I fear it will pop off. alleyoop didn't I read somewhere that you go up 1 or down 1 when you go from rollers to sliders?

If you have rollers in there and you like the rpms it produces and the way it runs with the rollers and you to to Sliders go 1 gram heavier on the sliders. You will run just about the same rpms PLUS due to the 1 gram heavier it will squeeze the belt a little more and move it up a little higher for a little more top end ( win win) The folks that say Sliders caused problems is most likely they were not put in correctly. It is very easy to put them in the ramps wrong if your not familiar with them. Alleyoop

Oh yeah. That's easy to do! BTDT
Putting them in wrong will change the behavior drastically and also cause premature wear.
Dr Pulley sliders are more expensive but you can tell the difference in quality. They're made with a better plastic.

Ah, ok now I understand thanks. I'll go with sliders once I figure out what roller weight to use. Right now I'm using the stock 12 grams that came with my hoca, but feel like, with my weight, my motor would pull a little better from a stop with some lighter rollers. I'm not going to start swapping them out yet cause starting monday I'm redoing my whole top end with a better head, bigger cam, and a 59mm BBK. Should be fun!

I just bought my first set of sliders. They pushed my belt up higher even though they were lighter than the rollers I had. Before putting in the sliders, the belt was a bit low, and I was going to shave the boss, but now I don't have to. Assuming the belt CAN go any higher, if you are already as high as you should go, and you use sliders, you MIGHT have to add a shim to bring the belt down a little. Add 0.1mm of shim for every 0.2mm you want the belt to drop.
