Hey guys, this guy again. I got a kymco agility 125 from a guy for a good deal. Thing is he says the motor is shot. So Im planning on rebuilding the entire engine starting with the crankshaft. (could i even tell if it was still good?) Thing is, I know all these engines are GY6's to some extent clones and what not. But are the crankshafts the same? Clearance wise? The reason I ask is because I'd rather not send 150 bucks on just a crank shaft if the same piece is 50 bucks on ebay (just says gy6 crankshaft). I just don't want to get the piece and it doesn't fit. Does anyone have experience in this area?

on the engine it has a code usually with that you can find out which parts work for your engine I am not too familiar with the Kymcos but i have had customers with the Agility 125 buy parts from me.

The engine code will tell you which factory it came from. Crankshafts are about the only thing that may not be generic GY6 as they can be longer or shorter or have different fittings on the ends for the flywheel and variator depending on the manufacturer. Kymco's are actually Taiwanese rather than Chinese and they're built with higher spec parts.
Once you pull the top end off the motor you should be able to twirl the crank around by hand and get a sense of whether or not the shaft bearings and the big end of the rod are showing any sign of wear, contamination or damage.
