I changed it around 100 miles, currently its at around 500 miles. I will change it again, but first let me see about this crankshaft because if I can't get that to work it's time to junk this thing.

Take a close up shot of the crank OR YOU SURE it it not the nut that is stripped? The crank is very hard metal I would think the Nut would strip first and not the crank.

for the crankshaft nut, I found this one pep boys website, I'm going to pick one or two up and try it:

I'm gonna throw this out there . Like u said u can't really hear it in the first vid u posted " it sounded fine to me . The only thing I heard in the first vid was what my scoot sounded like when my battery was low and wouldn't turn the engine over hard enough to start it . However I didn't hear the noise you are describing so not sure . Another thing is listen to the starter relay " solenoid " as you start ther scoot they will make a loud noise somtimes when going bad " but more like a loud clicking or buzzing ".

I think based on the fact that I hear it when starting it but not after it's running it has to be the starter. I got some m12-1.25 nuts, I'm going to go see if I can salvage the crankshaft and if so, I'll worry about the starter next.

I'm sure it's something with the starter , sometimes when it's cold out my starter relay with make a very loud clicking as it starts and of course after it starts it's ok .
