oh wow it's a downsize of the latest design flagship rocketa mc-18-500 and that's gonna be both good and bad news because neither the 500 or the 250 "18 series" can be found anywhere in google that (i) was able to locate so, this macine is only rare now presently. but no it does not have 14 inch rims actually. It has 14 inch rear rim with a 15 in front (if you read further down in the specs.)



It's listed initially with rear drum, but later it states discs front and back and in the picture it has dual disc in front and disc in the back so apparently it has an over engineered chassis taken from the 500 and probably has oversize forks too, 41mm forks not a bad thing and it's a newest design. i have never seen a scooter in this class with front dual disc brakes before, seems like overkill other then I like the thought it will only increase the giroscope and keep the weight balanced from left to right.



It does appear to have the same fairing as the 500 and it looks ALOT like a police bike in the white color when viewed from the front. not sure if that is a good thing, it might prove handy in keeping the guy ahead of you going slower on the freeway, or keeping EVERYONE going slower around u for that matter. not sure why the fuel tank is only 1.56 gallon, hope it has belt final and not a chain. well hopefully someone will find some other of these being sold on the net somewhere. I cannot find the 500 being sold at all but for the price i found the 250 type 18 seems to be one of the best machine out there so it's now in my top 5. anyone find anything better let me know 

You might want to consider some of the offerings from Moto International in Seattle since your on the left coast.

They constantly seem to be getting deals on Aprilia bikes such as the 500cc Scarabeo which comes with a 2 year parts and labor warranty.

Full flow oil filtration using automotive style filters and 6,250 miles between oil changes are a plus.

An over sized front fairing and windshield does not always equal a better ride since it can create additional turbulence and be noisier than a smaller more refined design. Over sized can also rob you of fuel economy and top end speed.

As a designer you may want to watch out for some scooters which do not have support for the outer end of the clutch shaft. The Piaggio bikes do not rely on just the bearings internal to the final drive to keep the clutch spinning true and have an outer ball bearing supporting the clutch shaft to promote smooth running and longevity.

Just some food for thought since as you mentioned there will be compromises and you have to find one with the best combination to suite you.

Well if that came from one of the MC-18-250 pictures it sure is the 244 Vertical motor, I was going by the CVT cover.

    xcellent well sounds like my kind of dealer Favorited. I do like re furbished and scratch and dent and i will be passing thru Texas in my moving truck this fall, I will then be stationed in the Midwest.

I have been looking for Kymco, SYM, Aprilia but they don't seem to exist for sale on the internet. Chinese parts don't scare me, I actually had an excellent Chinese e bike scooter with 16 wheels, folding, from the flying pigeon company which is the worlds largest bicycle manufacture. That machine was quickly deleted probably as being too good and i think they made maybe like 5 of them. 

   well you inadvertently mentioned one of the biggest problems in scooters and that is CG.

 ask any teenage girl in history where to carry stuff on a bike - step thru beach cruiser, nice big tires, front basket. guess they are not quite as dumb as some people once thought. is a nose heavy bike a good thing???


      Fairings are not a huge problem because I usually build my own stuff and I'm intimately familiar with air foils as they pertain to the handling on a wing of an air craft especially

    what do airplanes have to do with cars and bicycles?? more then people think. CG stands for "center of gravity."

I built flew and tested some 140 foils i am an aerobatics pilot world champion with thousands of hours, I flew radio control. What people in bikes need to understand is this :

place a cone in front of a ball, drag drops from .40 to .38. Place that cone behind that same ball, drag is obliterated at .03. (or something along those lines not exact numbers) (lower number is better, lower is less drag, better fuel mileage, with cone in the REAR, not the front)  That being said we must keep the rain off too and wind blast on ones head is silliness. I like one aspect of the Aprelia fairing. Thee Aprelia 500 has the same fairing concept pioneered by BMW in 87 and I will be fabricating and bolting on my own copy with any machine i buy anyway so,,,. (it basically makes it so you don't have to look thru a fogged up fairing, but can instead still look over it while having the wind diverted farther so's it miss your helmet)

    It is the rear trunk and saddle bags is how we can achieve substantially less drag with any motor bike. In the future these will be tapered. ***BUT THIS PRESENTS ANOTHER PROBLEM*** and this being among the biggest engineering problema in both bicycles and scooters today but especially with the present day SCOOTER designs which are the worst culprit.
    
    
   The biggest problem in scooters? that's why i mentioned airplanes. it is the same issue we encounter when we watch all those u tube videos that show the Ferrari and Lamborghini "super" cars spinning out off the line and crashing. The creator allows "people" to build devil cars like u see on u tube because he wants other (people) to THINK for a change - to stand on there own 2 feets -  and where am i going with this? - well a good liar i am not so i have to spell this1 out not every1 on the planet is a human now (Google the word ALIEN) they are fallen angels basically. not aliens. true story. (that's what all aliens are, fallen angels) They make lousy motor bikes and this has to stop. 

      - I watched a vid recently showing a 747 take off and immediately it cork screwed and crashed. I have seen countless air crash videos where everyone is left scratching their heads - couple a tail heavy scooter with tiny 10 inch wheels??  wow. how did those designs even get this far? and to think most of THOSE owners are BEGINNERS and can't handle a bike to begin with. That is just evil. an evil. insanity and on so many levels. and what is happening to the minds in u tube? i read 3 hundred comments and no one mentioned that 747 plane was tail heavy.


     There are 2 ways to build a wheel, one is round, thee other is broad and spacious path of which any one of a gillion other then round shapes will very and most "effectively" do -  provided those shapes are ALIEN when i look at a bike, i only see round. or wish i did rather. The trick in life or anything else for that matter is to gravitate to the truth and to do this u want to resonate with thee earth u don't want to lie. an alien meanwhile is neither here nor there - he can't get along with himself he sure aint going to get along with you. If he is an alien, alien here, you can BET he will be an alien our there and probably destroyed his own planet before ever he arrived here to "save" ours. Why buy his products?  Does it really take 2 centuries to design a bicycle accurately? no we need to put these aliens in their place. 

TAIL HEAVY: 

Like, JUST like an aircraft, a vehicle on a road with wheels must be balanced. Engineering is SIMPLE folks. Fallen angels, literally here, yes now, walking up and down the street with us among us, try and patent their operations here via plastering complex algo rythmz (whatever those are) and intense "physics" onto their fabrications and meanwhile they literally enjoy, if they can, demonizing our machines too while they're at it and yes they are actually real people down here now disguised as humans to spell it all out soooo that's why i'm here.  

Look only to a conventional ever popular wheel barrow which is a demonized design, or a modern day.... oh i forget what they're called - modern day ...SCOOTER?? ...and u will instantly understand how effectively and persistently these devils can wind up incorporated into the machines around us and can be so blatantly accepted by those viewing the beast with admiration now presently classified as humans presently with us. Don't lay your throat back and open your wallet wide as u can and believe everything your told give yourself some credit, stand on your own 2 feet, understand that monsters, devils are REAL and it's only a little common sense engineering is simple.

A goat knows it all, and so can't be taught, is proud. a sheep meanwhile listens. he asks questions, he is malleable, humble. I didn't teach the air foil to behave, I got an idea, built it, flew it, tested it, asked it questions, and IT taught me what not to do and while meanwhile it taught me where to point. the key is to ask questions - ask them on your bike, modify, experiment and listen. your concept of a beautiful bike is not necessarily a good one.  

It's very simple - on an aircraft, the plane MUST be balanced about 28 parts of a hundred aft of the leading edge of a wing where it connects to fuselage (provided wing juts out with no sweep) , (and if there is sweep, further back still) (basically u want a single engine plane balanced right were the guy sits, and that is why engineers put him THERE to begin with) u cannot lie to thee air flowing around u.


I did not figure this law out, on paper, I just built a plane, threw it out, and the plane told me what it wanted to do. Ask questions, listen. have to get the question right - hmmmm, what if i make this thing tail heavy? being self taught, re inventing the wheel is just stupid. but today it has become mandatory because thee earth is haunted and we be out numbered.

 On a bicycle, it is no diff then a plane other then the balance point should typically, at least can be, further back and closer to midway such as when cornering especially - and formula 500 motorcycle racers are the most guilty of nailing that icon and in intricate detail - they are flying on thee edge of meltdown and as such you will notice when cornering they all seem to be shifting their bodies and gravitating to the same EXACT truth and inevitable sweet spot.  Demons are not very good at lying on a race track..

On a bicycle or car, mid balance or nose heavy is desirable. On an air plane, nose heavy is fine. Even very nose heavy is flyable. but tail heavy??? that's when you die. period. cannot be done, impossible and tail heavy bikes meanwhile can and WILL pull you out into traffic even on just a straight to say nothing of what happens when you attempt to maneuver - they want to corkscrew, they get wiggly. scooters getting wiggly at speeds that's just mandatory with the smaller wheels. 

    ALSO WITH BIKES WE NEED TO ACTIVATE THE FRONT BRAKE AND NOT FLIP THE MACHINE OVER , so a bike, unlike a plane, should probably be balanced, beginning aft of the ideal 28 percent from the nose and or wing rule. (when viewed from the side, a CONVENTIONAL airplane will be balanced about 28 percent aft of the nose whether pertaining to either the fuse OR the wing) But on a bike we do not factor in any wings, and still we must also corner, and brake vs with the more critical airplane.  

      

   The bible tells us broad is the road of insanity, narrow is the path of the Staber washing machine"  In washing machines, it is easy to spot the eyes of the sun being the Everest Staber washing machine design here now being built by some rational human who was, apparently, "rebelling" among us.... I do wish I could find such a machine in scooters, but for now full fairing 300cc storage compartment scootering contraptions are definitely the present world leaders in motorizing 2 hoops and carrying things efficiently and practically down the rd. I already know EXACTLY what i want - just need someone to build it. oh those demons are so effective at making me stand out as the bicycling king of kings of thee internet - demons are beyond stupid in sitting around figure out better ways to inevitably hand cuff, kill and abyss themselves... but then this is good.

    Insanity? yes definitely. It is alive and well even now as we speak if a blind leads a blind, both of them will fall into a pit and this has to stop.  look only to those rear saddle bags on light weight touring bicycles. insane.  Look only to those high trunks mounted on Honda Gold wings which is fine because of the front end MASS. but. Take the heavy front fairing off the gold wing and leave the rear saddle bags and trunk on filled to capacity and boom you have the recipe for disaster.

       becomes immediately obvious when a bike is UN balanced - to find if your bike is tail heavy its very simple just wiggle the bars back and forth whether moving or stationary. Immediately you will notice the whole frame will flex like a piece of very soft spaghetti the minute the bike starts getting tail heavy. Extremely dangerous,  and when steering the bike suddenly will have a mind all its own very vague. Can break your frame too closest i came to dying on a bike via an automobile happened some 6 times in the span of one week when I was carrying heavy items on the rear rack - the bike kept getting pulled out onto traffic such as in a wind buffet or avoiding a pot hole.

WARNING:  don't remove the heavy fairing on your already tail heavy scooter!!
    meanwhile zoom forward to the Everest of engineering in the bicycle populace and your are left with the BICYCLE MESSENGERS. of course! and theeese guys will teach u how to carry stuff on a bike - NOSE HEAVY.  A typical bike will accept 45 lbs on the front. Any more and you can flip over when applying the front brake. After 30 - 45 lbs you must start to add the lbs on the back. I have done 70 lbs front, but very very dangerous and this is just to illustrate where the boundaries generally are.

  Bike messengers employ a PORTEUR, it is just a flat, low as possible steel framed platform that you can rest any size box onto it. THIS IS GOOD - VERY GOOD because this is a world of big boxes.  but that will hurt aerodynamics!!  Right??  WRONG. Based on what the air teaches us about a SPHERE AND A CONE, we can understand you will not penalize a scooter aerodynamically to any great extent via thee addition of a portuer ahead of your fairing (i bleev that's a french word, porteur) and you will be on the path to solving the tail heavy issues the scooters are secretly suffering from presently what with the motor in back, heavy dual shocks waaaay back, trunk in back, saddle bags in back, and underseat storage in back, loooong swingarm in back, and ....uh oh, motor in back too,,, aaaaaaaaand gas tank. in back.  not good.  

 the solution is simple  1 use bigger and wider is good wheels, bolt all parts as far forward as possible. 

2 don't make it tail heavy, solve this with a front platform rack just above the front wheel, snug against the front steering stem, your fairing may now engulf the porteur and form a compartment to put stuff in.

3 taper the rear storage compartments so air can smooth out better in back, reducing your drag substantially. educate the public to carry heavy stuff in front, light stuff in back, teach them how to do the wiggly handlebar test. Place headlight ahead of porteur = do not engineer a bike only to look a certain way and think oh i can't mount a porteur, the light will be in the way do not become a victim to beauty. 

    What needs to be done is (wheels can be much less diameter on a motorcycle vs bike because they are much heavier then a bicycle wheel) add a porteur platform rack in front, start bolting parts to it that u removed from the rear end, use at least a 14 rear wheel and 15 front (wheelbase is monstrous on a scooter cuz it factors back in stability that was (somehow?) lost where both CG is ignored, coupled with too small wheels are employed, thus making for a heavier, flexible motorbike thee engineers must attempt to tame with a too long wheelbase, = flexible and vague handling heavy, tail heavy machine
      

No it is not a Linhai motor it is a HELIX 244cc motor been around for decades and very reliable, but low on power. But for freeway traveling you should be looking for rides with 400cc+ motors NOT 250 size motors so you do not have to be running at WIDE OPEN THROTTLE to keep up with traffic. All this talk about air movement around the foils, are you going to be riding on the Salt Flats? All that is not necessary when riding around streets in the city or towns, all that comes into play at speeds.

I am very familiar with cars, motorcycles, mopeds, electric bicycles and airplanes. I am a very good mechanic better than most I have to say. The guys in the shops I call them monkey mechanics because all they know how to do is replace parts and cannot diagnose past their nose so what do they do they just replace parts until they hit the culprit that is causing the problem. And the poor soul that brought the problem child in winds up with a huge bill paying for parts and labor that were not needed.
But here is an electric that will do 40mph and will throw you off the bike if you twist the throttle to much and are not holding on. Hub Phoenix motor had to put on a steel fork due to the torque. In addition I also fly R/C airplanes, so I know what a head or tail heavy CG will do. I have quite a few, I also converted a couple from motor to electric, built some from scratch cut every piece of wood on them. My pride and joy is the scratch built Der Jag-er German experimental by-plane wing span inch's 22x10 prop and a G62 gas motor came in at 25lbs with a smoke system.

Since your looking for property and only needing whatever for a couple of months and then planning on selling whatever your better off renting a small car and it will be much cheaper to tell you the truth. So after reading all your posted novels why spend all that money for not.
