so anyway alleyoop you have been tremendously helpful. I'm now sure this engine is both durable, a quality copy, has a track record and i can get parts easy.
question: can anyone tell me about the potente 300 efi versus the TBX 260 EFI? the 260 has a 257 cc engine, so I am assuming it is therefore a linhai 257? and the potente meanwhile uses a 295cc, Is that engine ok y'think? cuz i'm considering these efi bikes vs the vulnerable type 18. If type 18 is much more durable, i just assume get it. i have not found scooter specific department on this forum.

Parts are easy to get for any of the 250s, they are ALL made in CHINA. But they are good running CLONE motors so which ever one happens to come with whatever scoot you decide they are reliable as reliable as reliable can be. Scoots with EFI's are costly and if the ECU goes out for any part of the system it controls your out around $700.00 bucks just for that part. You will not find scooter specific specs on the forum, this is mostly Chinese scooters and under their skins are all pretty much sameo sameo only the skins change and they give them different names and sell them as a new model year. So if someone has a 250 whatever has the HELIX MOTOR or LINHAI MOTOR another 250 whatever with the same motor are considered sameo sameo just the name changes and skin changes. Same goes for the 50s and 150s all sameo sameo under their skins.
So all you have to do is decide on the body style and size wheels and which motor you prefer, they are all punched out 250s. When they say 300cc it is not really 300ccs it is more like 275+ range they love to round up the numbers to make a sell. Alleyoop

Not just Chinese scooters...EVERYONE seems to round displacement up! The "650" Burgman is 638. The "250" Rebel is 234cc.
