Why?: economics. It is either a scooter or a 2nd car. pollution: I hear they now have catalytic converters which makes me happy. What else could I use it for?: if I could tow 400lbs or canoe and canoe trailer that would be a dream. Hauling fishing rods would be nice too. Highway use? I would not count it out.
So I am figuring a 125cc - 150CC.
New vs Used....I don't really care but new is certainly nice.
I saw that Honda still has 2013 PCX150s for about $3k
So what is the deal with the PCX150s and why are they so much cheaper than similarly displacement offerings from Yamaha?
Recommendations?
Thanks for reading my noob quesiton

howdy, I don't know the answer to the why but I do know I just came from spain and the pcx 150 is highly popular. you might also want to check the offering from kymco which will also be a nice scoot and a bit less. it is also popular in spain.
lotsa miles and smiles to ya ken

My scooter is my commuter. I save my truck for hauling and road trips. It has worked out well for me.

I would not count it out. ... what is the deal with the PCX150s and why are they so much .... Looked at a used Honda Elite at Del Amo motorcycle store, the riveted tag said made in mainland China. The PCX may be also. As long as Honda and the Dealer covers warranty I don't care who made it. The PCX is a 153cc, more horsepower than my 150.5cc LX150. Both are 50-State freeway legal, have down more than 2,500 miles on the freeways and Interstates. I'm not the slowest vehicle on the freeways. Thinking of a one-wheel trailer, but I wouldn't towing more than a hundred pounds or so. I ride for transportation, but I do enjoy it.

150cc ain't gonna tow 400 lbs or be hi-way capable If you need to tow, get a Burghman (400 or 600) or a Silverwing, used is still good I got a trike cause I've got special needs Welcome and enjoy

I went with the Aprilia 250 when they were on incentive for $2,999. You got to look for sales and incentives which can be found if you look for them. People near to Seattle do well to keep an eye on Moto International as they seem to have a knack for finding new old stock in great condition with full factory warranties.
Myself I ride because it costs me $8 every 10 days instead of $70 a week for gasoline. 3X$8=$24 while 4.5X$70=$315 saving me around $291 a month or $3,492 every year just on the gasoline.
