I had an 835-20-30 on my scoot from factory and it did not go all the way to the top of my variator face when WOT top speed,,it was like 1\2"lower.
My face is 115mm stock.I put a 842-20-30 on today and now it rides to the top,,the top end speed increased a few MPH BUT I noticed my RPM at cruising speed 40-45 MPH is a little higher now,,why would that be,,just because the belt is longer???It doesn't make sense to me,,I'm going to try 14g sliders to see if it brings it back down some...any thoughts?

Its lower after the clutch fully engages and the variator is to the top gear,,that happens at around 50 MPH before it happened around 48 MPH.It was pulling pretty hard at 50-53 MPH taching around 7k but I never got a chance to get it to top speed,,I will check tomorrow. I like to cruise around at 45 MPH and tach about 5700,,but now its taching 6k,,Im sure its not a big deal,,I just like to keep my R's down some,,I know you guys always say 7K is the sweet spot,,if I cruised around at 7K I would be cruising 55 mph..lol |

I have my scoot running at 7500 rpms at top speed , any lower and I won't hit the 67mph on a straight run. Down hill I redline if I keep it at full throttle and I'll hit around 70 . U may lose top end if u up the weights . Of a belt is a little more wore out then another belt it can cause higher rpms but u said u just got the 842 . Not sure why it's a little higher . Is it a quality belt ?

Get the larger diameter variator (inner pulley ) that is the way to go . Choose the weights you want . I can help you decide . Then it will be your welcome to my parts club .

Yeah my stock face is 115mm.I dont really care too much about my top speed because I like to cruise around 40-45 MPH so that is the area I'm trying to improve,,if I could bring my cruising speed up to 50MPH that would be sweet,,I think 7K is a little high to be cruising around at for hours but I might be wrong,,these little GY6 motors do seam to be indestructible so far..
The belt is a new Gates Powerlink but it said Made in China on it,,and I know the smell of chinese rubber,,it works great,,nice and smooth but the rpm changed a little,,might actually be because I cleaned everything then put some light grease on that bushing,,maybe its sliding out slower now and staying in a lower gear longer because of the grease?

I try to keep things simple and transparent , if I get poor feedback on an item I drop them . I have sold the HP variator to many guys here , the hardest thing was getting the weights correct to reach the individual goal . That is something thst takes work in fine tuning .
I was thinking of leading a ride in my area . I hope your not too far away in NJ to join the ride .

You want to cruise a low rpms LIKE I DO, I like to cruise 50 -55 mph and at 50mph it is running 5100-5200, 60mph it is running 6100-6200. What you want is slap in some taller tranny gears and you will get up to speed and then you will be able to back off the throttle quite a bit and it will hold that speed. You will be amazed at your motor just purring at low rpms.

Gears are next Alley,,I am going to have to tear into it soon...will gears keep the R's down even before the CVT maxes out like in the middle gearing range 35-45 mph???
Im sure Ill have to get a BBK also,,dont think the mods I have done will push taller gears like they should be pushed...I will try though ..lol..maybe 15/38's like geh3333 the ones you have might be way to tall without a BBK and mods...Ill have to see whats in it now..
