Went and looked at a used TMAX this afternoon. I really like it a lot, I like the TMAX more than the Majesty, just want to get some thoughts here before I commit.
Found it on CraigsList...
2009 scoot, purchased new in 2012, less than 6k miles, just now getting broken in, clean, except for a small scuff where it's been laid over once. Original factory tires still. Asking $4999. I'm ready to offer $4500 but I think it may be worth the full asking price. 500cc, Cranks easy, runs good , pulls hard, still lots of torque at 70mph, not even working hard.
Think it's worth it? Will need new tires pretty soon...

Tmax probably wins any performance tests against the Burgman 400 and or the Majesty, it's two closest maxi-scoot rivals. Where it falls short however,is its practicality. It's storage space has room for 1 helmet and not too much else. They're more expensive too. I purchased my 08 Burgman with 8,000 miles on it, from a private owner for $2400. A used Burgman 650 I've seen go less than $5000.So, I guess it depends on your priorities. ..performance or practicality?

At the track it still loses to the Burgman 650 and on the roadway it still does not offer that much over an Aprilia 250. Most are priced too high second hand with issues with private sellers trying to get the same price as a dealer warrantied bike in excellant condition,

Well, for whatever it's worth, used maxi-scoots are few and far between in my area. I see very few on CL and they are usually a couple hundred miles away. This is the first, and most promising option I've found. Storage - the TMAX has a much nicer storage compartment underseat than my YY250t. I can still add my trunk as well... If I could find a good deal on a Burg, Silverwing, Forza, Majesty, or Kymco, I would take it. I like the TMAX, don't need the power but don't mind having it since I do see some highway (non-interstate) travel, and my 250 was just borderline capable of handling the hills.

Still check out the local dealerships and see what they have in a new bike. You may be surprised on the deal they may make you on a trade with your old bike. You may come out the same pricewise as if you had sold it an bought that dropped TMax however you will ride away with a new bike with factory service and a full warranty for one or two years.
