I was watching some scooter ride vids on the Tube when I saw this video of the new Tao Tao Quantum. Boy is that one sexy scooter... Then did a Google photo search for these and saw some pics... www.solanocycle.com/New-Inventory-2014-TaoTao-Scooter-Quantum-Tour-150-St.-Augustine-Florida-617371It has: The similar agressive styling of a Kymco Super 8 (from the side). DIGITAL Speedometer and Fuel Guage WITH a tachometer. LED turn signals and headlights. (What appears to be) Very good storage. And now, I want one more than I want more than the BWS 150 or Genuine Hooligan. I think I've found my next scooter!

Nice looking machine. (surprise-surprise) I keep telling folks the Chinese are moving ahead, and are out to eat Japan's lunch!

THAT is DEFINITELY one slick ride! The ONE thing I do wish they'd do however, is upgrade the rear drum-brake to a disk. It's not just the Chinese manufacturers either (a great many Chinese scoots DO wear disks both fore and aft). I'm incurably "old-school" but old-school bikes from my youth had the WORST brakes. The only "saving grace" was that cars of that era had the same "Fred Flintstone" stoppers too.
I've ridden numerous Chinese, Italian and other scooters with a rear drum-brake. With a disk up front, they are "OK" but there's just NO substitute for a disk. Disks are simple, inexpensive and EFFECTIVE. Whether it's a $900 generic Chinese scooter, or a $5,000 Vespa, in this day and age, it should come with simple, easy to wrench disk-brakes at both ends... And make mine the 2-piston flavor please...
Factories must still have thousands (maybe millions?) of leftover GY6 cases set up with the drum brake... Gotta use them up. Hey, wait just one minute! My old Xingyue 150 had the old drum-brake cases, BUT had a disk mounted to the OTHER side. Yup! It CAN be done. Easily...
Ride safe!

Killer Motorsports is carrying these now. Now I've got a THIRD choice to think about thrown into the mix with the Powermax and Evo, and frankly, this one is winning by a mile on looks.

Bought the Quantum about a month ago. First scooter ever, so can't compare it to anything. No complaints.

Thank you! How is scootermadness with shipping titles? Do they ship with the bike or around the same time, and do they charge extra for paperwork? I was going to get a BSM but these look pretty sweet.

Good idea. Can you link one or two of your favorite reviews so I can get some ideas? Like I said, I'm new to two wheel riding and ownership, so not yet familiar with what makes a good review.

My favorite Chinese scooter review was this one: Obviously the length doesn't have to be 20 minutes haha, but a good overview of what it looks like, how it runs, what kind of storage space it has, show off the lights, etc. should be included.
