I have a 2013 jonway Solana deluxe 4 stroke qmb 139 gy6. I bought a 100cc bbk that came with everything. I have a no rev cdi,23mm carb w/# jet, 6.5 rollers,A9 cam , new muffler 50mm bore head and jub. I run about 40mph I did this with the stock engine. I think there is something wrong here I should top out at less 50mph. I set the valves at .0004 on both. I don't know what is wrong here ? I guess I need to know what I need to set my valves at ? the scooter runs fine just the speed doesn't feel right with a 100cc kit. please help my e-mail is onelove2holdon2@yahoo.com also I like to know if I go with 17t/49 gears will this give me more speed on top end or what gears should I go with for top end? thank you

Hopefully u meant .004 for the valves . Also u may only need to tune the cvt " lighter roller weights " I see u are at 6.5 what size were in before ?

For top end, you need heavier roller weights. Lighter weights are for better take off. Going too heavy or too light can give opposite results (but that is extremely too heavy or light).
I run 6g sliders with a Koso variator (about the same as 7g rollers), and my top end is just shy of 50mph.
BTW- 100cc kits are actually about 83cc

You don't necessarily need to go heavier for top end , you need to find the right balance that will allow you to hit your top speed on a straight run . I had to go with 10 gram sliders on my 150 . 11 gram was to heavy to hit my top speed on a straight run even though going down hill I get about 5 mph faster then the 10 grams , but down hill dosent count and I cannot hit this speed on a straight run no matter what size rollers or sliders I use . So it's a tuning process . U will need to test different weights and determine what your top speed is on a straight run and lock it in with the right weights .

Not all Restricted scooters have the BOSS built up to limit the amount the variator closes, most just have a thick washer that you can just take out. Alleyoop

After installing my bbk I used scrappys 50/16 gears and got a really good gain. If you have a lot if torque you could use a taller gear such as the hoca gears at partsforscooters.com. A lot of the tuning the cvt and gears will be depend on your weight of though.

Mark it like this and open her up and then check how much of a mark is left on the variator. Alleyoop MARK IT 1/2 inch by 1/2 inch. Then take a picture after the run or tell us how much of a mark is left on the variator.
