I never had any problems with my stock belts. However I noticed that saving money on a belt, especially when you performance tune it, is worthless. Those cheaper belts are probably good for people who have a poor performing 50cc from the pre-2008 era.

If you are also using an aftermarket "performance" variator it might be pushing your belt into the starter bendix under deceleration. If that's the case the belt will break regardless in short time. I bought an NCY "Golden" variator with a performance pitch, and it cost me more in belts than it was worth. I did run it for a while and just took the bendix out and kicked it over, but the kick starters aren't meant to be used all the time and ended up pitching the variator and went stock.

Napa has the Gates belts , They have them in a Napa Label. 139qmb Shortcase Gates standard PL20507 $19 Napa part no PL20507 Gates Kevlar PL30707 $39 Napa Part no PL30507
Makes it convenient to get one on short notice.
I like to run 2 belts 1 a Gates and 1 is a Bando, I run one for a few months and switch to the other for a few months. Like shoes, I wear one for a while and switch to the other. Takes forever to wear them both out.
