I was out riding today a guy in a 1300 gsxr pulls beside me revs the motor and points light turns I get smoked badly. I did catch up after we hit the highway was right behind him I'm sure he let me. We got off the exit and hit another light he said I have the fastest scooter he's ever seen so i felt good. But even a maxed scoot can't compare to a crotch rocket but mine does what I need it to do, he said he was doing around 70 and I was right behind him so I'm happy. A crotch rocket may be in my near future.

The only reason I don't ride a CR is they are notoriously uncomfortable for someone my size and age... Age more then anything.... LOL

Crotch rockets are just to compensate for shortcomings in "other" areas

The only reason I don't ride a CR is they are notoriously uncomfortable for someone my size and age... Age more then anything.... LOL Gotta agree!
A few years back, when I was less arthritic, I tried out a few crotch-rockets... It didn't take long to get tired of my butt in the air, chin on the tank and the handlebars down by the front axle riding position... LOL! For those young enough to enjoy 0-60 in 3 seconds, but not the "crouching tiger/aching back" syndrome, there are plenty of cruisers with crotch-rocket-style engines out there. Ride what ya' like, and can afford...Leo in Texas

I'm with urbanmadness. Arthritis, tendonitis and pinched nerves take the fun out of the sportbike riding position. I suppose I could add taller handle bars if I wanted one bad enough.

I had a guy on a 600cc Sport Bike having trouble keeping up with me in traffic and when he finally caught up he was quite dismayed to find it was a 250cc scooter he was having trouble waxing. He took solice by saying that Aprilia was like Ducati. You need to compare at least within a reasonable class range.
I wish I had saved the link as some time ago I read an article from a major Sport Bike magazine that had their editors compete in a track race with the Pros on their Sport Bikes. The editors were taken by limo to pick up their rides that they were to get familiar with by riding them to the track. Behind the curtain they found not sport bikes but scooters in the form of a Suzuki Burgman Executive 650, Yamaha Majesty, Yamaha T-Max and Aprilia Scarabeo 500. The Burgman placed near the lead group with the rest of the scooters not far behind with all comming in ahead of 50% of the pack. All the Pros were laughing and jeering at the beginning of the race while toward the end at least 50% were either angry or humiliated while those in the lead group were very nervous. For a bunch of old guys on scooters that they had never ridden before they did pretty good.

My 50cc GY6 goes great with all the simple changes i have made. My nephew is giving me a KLR650 and as ive broken a lot of bones 27 years ago in a parachute accident 8inches suspension travel front and rear is the best road rocket for me and in my country i can ride it on a learners licence
my first post accident scooter was a RM125 with a Mini Chopper motor 4speed 72cc no speedo a friend clocked me doing 60kmh in second gear the Police stickered it off the road but comfortable Scooter rode it for 3 years

You could always go old school muscle bike.... better riding position and loads of torque.... think Honda Magna or Sabre... with a V65... Nasty bikes..... with Honda dependability and with a price point around 2500 for a clean example in good shape.
Or do what I did.... old school goldwing. Yeah, it's heavy but the 1500 is no worse then my 500cc Scarabeo and in some ways, better. You just have to be a leg lifting Ninja to get on the beast. Very flat and forgiving power delivery, smooth and reliable and very, very comfortable.
The goldwing is never gonna be a great in-town bike, but it is doable, and the stereo will keep your mind off of it.

If one bike did everything, you would only need one. and where is the fun in that?

I know I sent it out via email to some friends however a Outlook Folder Compression error wiped out my arhive of saved sent items so I lost the link that I had saved.
