I'm going to go ahead and replace my cdi, it is the stocker and never has went out. Cant seem to find in the search here where John talked about the cdi's that he sells that actually work and do good. I believe its the one Alley uses.

I'm going to be calling John tomorrow and may order the cdi. Question for Alley, and others, What kind of differences did you notice? I read that there is no kickback, but any other difference? Also, I am still running the same oem cdi that came on the bike, should I notice a difference with the orange Casoli that John sells?

I have a casoli not much difference over stock cdis don't give a huge gain.

You may get 1-3mph gain at the top end, but no CDI gives much if any more.

You may get 1-3mph gain at the top end, but no CDI gives much if any more. im going from my 3mm crank to a 4mm and a gear change from 15*36 to 18*36 so im guessing that will give me more top end. |

I purchased the advancing one from John a few weeks ago. I had a performance (orange) cdi, but starting was a pain in the mornings.
I switched to the advancing one. Starting is amazing. As soon as I hit the starter, it's running. I put the stock CDI on and ran a day with it, so that I could determine a difference or not with this new one. There was a considerable difference in the way the bike runs in town. I'm not trying to gain top end. I am more concerned with the engine running easier and more efficient.
I am very happy with my purchase, and am going to order a second one for my daughter's scoot.
