It will not idle at 1000 rpms it dies. Also if he raises the idle to say 1400 the wheel is spinning TO FAST and if he puts on the brakes to stop the spinning the rpms drops and it DIES due to the load on the motor. It is evident that the clutch is engaging at to low of RPMS. Watch his videos

I watched a few and I'm just really wondering how when he hits the brakes it drops to the 900's and it still idles ? The he hits the brakes more and it stalls . How is his scoot still running that low ? Most scoots will die out way before that . Even on the center stand . If his clutch was not engaging it would still idle near 900 rpms .

Also when it's idling near 1400 it sounds like it's running much higher .

My springs are like that also . I am able to snap them in without having to use any tools . Now I have to use a screw driver or needle nose to take them off . They look just like mine but I have the orange 1500 and a red 2000 rpm set . And they both work properly Yes, this is exactly how my new springs went in. I put the long end in first and was able to just my finger to force the other end in.

Hard to tell I will have to crank mine up and listen to it really good, mine idles around 1600. The other thing I was thinking is that the Roller Bearings on the pulley side are shot and are actually grabbing the shaft.
But if it is idling to high he may have the TACH set wrong it does have different settings. And if that is the case I would suspect the VALVES are to tight and tight valves will not hold low idle it will run only at a higher idle. Alleyoop

I honestly think your scoot is idling much higher then what ur rpm gauge is saying . What's the lowest u can set the rpms to and it still idle ?

Yea, that would also be a off some.
Billie, on the back of the tach you will see a little button mine is blue, Press that and you want it to show 1.0 ppr it goes from 0.5, 1.0 and 2.0 you want to set it to 1.0. Alleyoop

The blue button on the back of the tach does nothing when I press it. I noticed that before contacted the place I bought it but they ignored me.
Is there another way to verify the tach? For example, I noticed my engine turns over around 360 rpm.

I took the belt and clutch off and started it up and I was actually able to get it to idle at 700 for a minute. I turned it up to about 1400 but it started acting up. Here is the vid:

I might run it out of gas and try putting regular in it rather then super just to see if there is a difference.
