I can get it running for like 1 or 2 minutes at a time but it's hard to start and always stalls around 1600 rpm

Something else is going on here Bille, I notice you have several emissions on this thing can you take pictures of the VACUUM hoses and canisters. It may be one of them is leaking Vacuum. Alleyoop

I changed the spark plug and now it runs better, but it doesn't like to be below 1600 rpm. I gave it a rest and now I'm going out to record a quick video of it running to show you.

Well as long as the rear wheel is not spinning to fast and you can pull the brake without it dying out then that is fine. Like I said idleing between 1500-1800 is ok just find where it idles the smoothest without the rear wheel spinning so fast that if you pull the brake it causes the motor to die then you fine. That was great, I noticed the wheel was not spinning, you should of left it there REMEMBER 1500-1800 rpms as long as the REAR WHEEL is not spinning SO FAST THAT IF YOU PULL ON THE BRAKES IT KILLS THE MOTOR. So right now you lowered the IDLE so before you start it with your hand push the IDLE SPEED screw and see if the throttle control wheel moves . Alleyoop

The rear wheel isn't spinning because I don't have a belt or clutch on it right now. I ordered a larger belt and I'm waiting for it to come in the mail.

OH, HAHAHAHA, you faked me out bro. You are just about right on the FUEL MIXTURE SCREW so for now don't touch that. You may be a little lean and have to turn it COUNTER CLOCKWISE about 1/8 of a turn. But any way push the idle speed screw with your hand and see if the control wheel moves down. If it doesn't move then turn the idle speed A HAIR CLOCKWISE not much a 1/32 ups the idle and see if it starts. Alleyoop

I don't like to butt in , alley is doing a great job , but I usually turn my idle up slightly from norm and adjust the air fuel until I get the highest rpm and then I lower the idle with the idle screw as low as I can get it without stalling .

The problem is the VARIATOR, the weights are probably sideways NOTICE the belt is up in the variator and the belt is already down in the CLUTCH. it should be the opposite. So you need to take the Variator off and fix the weights in the Variator here is how to do it. Alleyoop

That video fixed me right up. Letting it warm up now before I attempt to adjust idle. Thank you!
