When you have it started like that have you tried the FUEL RATIO SCREW and see if turning it more RAISES the IDLE? IN EITHER DIRECTION try it and leave the idle where it started.

What if I take the belt off and then try to start it?

I tried to get it off, it wasn't coming off without a lot of force so I left it on. I did push the clutch all the way in to create slack, but it didn't seem to be enough to get the belt off.

I did exactly what they did in the video but I can't get it off. I wonder if that means the belt they put on it when they built it is too small?

That is what i said you may want to get the 842 20 30 belt that is about 1/4 of an inch longer than the 835 which then the belt should be near the top of the clutch pulley. Alleyoop

I'm looking for a 842 20 30 now and will update when I have a new belt. I will prob just cut the old belt off, which seems like a shame since its brand-new.

Because of the holiday weekend, I won't be able to get a new belt until next week sometime.

You will need this sooner than you think Billie, and if you plan on owning a scooter for quite some time or motorcycle and or car later on you will need it. Then you can use the shorter belt as an emergency. Alleyoop

ok, the harbor freight here is closed till tomorrow but I will pick it up tomorrow.
There is a cycle place hear my house that sells scooters, they don't sell or work on scooters from china but I'm hoping the belt is a normal size and they might carry it. If so I will pick up everything tomorrow.

I picked up the impact wrench. The 842 20 30 belt is scheduled to be delivered on June 2. Will update again when I have it.

While I wait for the new belt to come I went ahead and removed the one old and I got the clutch off and made a short video of it. I don't see any weights or springs.

The springs are on the other side, to get to them you have to take the BIG nut on the CLUTCH off. If you do be careful the CONTRA spring you see from the side is pretty strong and will expand so you have to hold it down. Push down what I do is put one knee on one side of the clutch and one hand right across and LEAN FORWARD to compress it then with the free hand I loosen the nut with a wrench and take it off then just ease off the clutch. Same way to put it back on. Alleyoop

Should I be able to start the scooter with the clutch and belt off? I've been trying with no luck...

I got it running. It idled at 2800 rpm and I very slowly tried to bring it down by adjusting the idle screw. I got to about 1700 and it stalled and now won't start. I'm worried the new belt won't be the end of this
