First of all to each their own, where I live we still have a lot of the old two lane roads with the peas and oil cover and in some cases the harder rock and oil. So it wears on tires especially in the hot summer.
I own a 250B and my wife has the 250A just like the OP and they are identical even the same color. Again I use a 140/60/13 on the rear and a 120/70/13 on the front which when calculated is almost a perfect same size OD as the 140/60/13 and I love:
The look The ride The wear
out of the larger tires, in fact it helped reduce the speedo error to within 3mph.
Now my wife didn't like the larger tires so I found a great sale on the SL26 and bought them, had to change the back one out this past summer with only 2200 miles on it and when it and the front one wears down the next time, Avons go on her scooter.
The least I've ever got on the Avons is 3800 miles.

I decided to go with Michelin Puresport SC 130/60/13 as they fender would not allow a 70 and a 140 may be too wide . The rear I could have went with a 140 . I did get a 130/70/13 since it is taller and turns 53 times less per mile than a 60 and they were out of the 60s . Compare sizes is a link to compare diff sizes

I was pondering the thought of getting two rear tires since they are stronger than the fronts . My scooter dealer has a rear on the front of his own scooter but mounted backwards . If I wemt this route I would want mine mounted according to the unidirectional arrow instead

Yes Richard the 140 will wear longer and Skuttadawg if you are riding a 250A or B the 130/70/13 will rub the crankcase.

It is a Jonway Magnum , a 2T with handsome boy body . I already removed the inner fender long ago . Plenty of room in the rear but not so much in the front .
Has anyone here put on two rear tires ? If so did you put the front on backwards or the same direction as the rear ?
