So as far as I know all there is is an cheap in effective so called magnetic screen that's supposed to keep metal out right. Well I put the screen to my fridge and it wont stick or retract so how strong is the magnet really???.
I want to spark ideas about a new sysstem.

I kinda doubt you'll get any filtration system to extend the life of the oil enough to make it cost-effective or even worthwhile on an air-cooled 50cc. I would definitely be interested in finding out I'm wrong though!

air cooled things run too hot to use the oil much longer than the 1000 mile mark. oil degrades faster under high heat conditions in engines such as these.
the only time i ever found anything on that screen was when i first got the scoot new. 3 little metal particles.

Funny.... Air cooled VW's used the same set up... Just a sump screen. We used to change the oil every 1500 and run the valves every 3000. The valve adjusters are amazingly similar. My '82 goldwing uses the same adjuster design as well. I guess if something works well you don't redesign it.

If you really want to see what is in your oil, run it through a coffee filter when doing an oil change. If your scooter is less than a year old, you have a high chance of finding some very tiny metal shavings from the break-in. The viscosity of oil will keep some shavings stuck to the sides of your engine through multiple oil changes, until they finally come out making you wonder if you currently have a problem. So if you do strain thru a coffee filter, don't be too concerned with what you find so long as it's only a few small shavings and you aren't having any noticeable problems.

Is straining out the elephants really an oil filtration system, then I guess the GY6 has a filtration system. I look at it more as a chunk collector.

Some might be surprised with what sometimes comes out of a GY6 after you drain the oil if you flush the block a bit with some carb cleaner, diesel fuel or kerosene. Oooo, shiney.
Too bad the oil pump is not really up to supporting full filtration.
