I have my panels off doing some winter painting...the pink has to go....and there are some electrical components up front I need help with....one is a black box and the other is round (not the horn)....the black box has two wires that are not connected to anything...or at least not since I removed the panels. They were stuck to the plastic front piece...I plan on wire tying them to the steering column....what are they?? What of the two wires???

Could it be an alarm that is disabled ?

The alarm....ok...never thought of that....thanks....could be the remote starter and stuff....maybe the one wire is an antenna then.

Remote start/shutoff and alarm. Surprised it runs as many factory installed systems need a jumper plug made for them if you unplug the alarm. Otherwise it keeps it from starting. Oh well leave it off..the battery will live longer as those things suck juice even when in the 'disabled' setting..

Carasdad...everything is still hooked up...with the exception of the black wire with the end that looks like it should be grounded to a bolt.... My guess the wire that is just hanging there is the antenna... Might try looking for threads on jumping it and removing it...

Find the alarm/remote start module and find the white plug for it. Unplug it from the wiring harness then check the wire colors if you have a brown/white and a black/white wire in the harness plug join them together with another wire. Or it may have grey and pinkish color wire connect those. If the alarms have a fuse just remove the fuse and leave it plugged in. Alleyoop
