Sounds like a blast...lol.. I think 150cc scooters should not attempt such a feat.. I mean, any air cooled engine( small engine) can't handle open throttle for to long without problems. I rode my 250cc scooter( Helix clone engine and liquid cooled) 120 miles( 40 mile breaks) and it done it fine. But it has a temp guage also to tell if getting hot. It is quite a bit different riding blind..lol.

UM, all that for a hundred bucks in labor? "It looks like a sport bike, it should GO like a sports bike!"  (Boy you are a friend to scooterists!) I don't want to think about what the bill would have been from a dealer. BTW, speaking of long rides and cooling, one of our mods routinely takes his 250 for little 800 mile "jaunts" in summer heat. (so much for Chinese scoots being unreliable) I solved the cooling issues on my 250 "Roar" by putting in Samco silicone 19mm cooling hose in Hi-Viz green (easier to spot damage or leaks) and a SPAL made-in-Italy sickle bladed fan. It now overheats about as much as a Good Humor truck in a blizzard  The lower one is the standard Chinese OEM next to the killer spal fan |

I do need a new spark plug... lol... But will put on in Spring time.. I am going to use a Honda Helix plug. It should work, being my engine is a Honda Helix Clone..

The below picture is from an adly panther 2005 model 2 stroke 1e40qmb all stock 14400 miles on this piston before catastrophic failure date of photo taken Today - 2/7/2014 sorry no real story here bought scooter for 250$ on craigslist at 13,0xx miles and took it easy for the next few hundred up until this  |

The below set of pictures is from an Eton Beamer PN2 model 2004 2 Stroke 1e40qmb all stock with chamber pipe exhaust 5800 miles before Catastrophic Failure got this scooter as a trade for a broke down car, with a guy i met off craigslist got her at around 3400ish miles if i remember correctly and completely BEAT it until it died   , did 50mph stock with chamber pipe, i would take it for 400+ mile ride's with out breaks just for fun      |

The one I posted did not happen at full throttle but the bike had run above red-line a lot before it went boom, clank, and bang bang...
My theory is it had weakened or broke a valve spring from all the over-revving.

My scooter's run full wide open throttle like  % of their life after 300 mile's (when i consider it broken in) it's a fun, short life at WOT it appear's i seem to average about 2800 miles per base model Cast iron big bore kit 1E40QMB 2 Stroke but those mile's sure are Fun ! got my 2004 Eton beamer pn2 with above engine, up to 62mph with a #  main jet, Standard chamber style exhaust pipe, and a 72cc big bore kit off ebay for like 69$ i'm sure someone will try to call B.S but i stand by my word that scooter blazed! |
