EDIT: sorry forgot to give the name of the scooter, year and all that jazz 2005 Aldy Panther 50cc 2 Stroke images.craigslist.org/00d0d_jvm77erorvf_600x450.jpgimages.craigslist.org/00W0W_7etFFaWVhPs_600x450.jpgimages.craigslist.org/00V0V_6rHjcIjuvG8_600x450.jpg13000 miles, i have a 72cc bbk sitting around from my old eton beamer to put on it i found this and have arranged to buy it tomorrow for 250$ ! Anyone have a solid opinion on this scooter? any back info, such as where it is manufactured, is it a 1E40qmb engine as i think it is? am i wasting my time and money at 13000 miles? considering i have a high quality used big bore kit to put on it ? (2k miles on bbk) questions, comments, opinions, link's of videos, pics and or reviews ? This scooter has some damaged pastic's hard to see in these low res pic's but it is at the rear end of the seat, it appears as though the rear fairing/plastics screwed to the bucket area with some odd rusty looking more than likely scrap metal brackets?

i would only be replacing the cylinder head, jug, piston, rings, cir clips, pin (assuming it is also a 10mm pin *crossed fingers*) with a used kit bearing 2k miles on it as far as completely rebuilding a 2 stroke what all would i need? new: CDI Air filter/housing spark plug Top end kit(witch i have) what else should i toss in there to add to this scooters reliability the seller is telling me that it starts and runs says it could ''probably use a tune up'' as far as i know two strokes do not really get ''tune ups'' other than an air filter change out and a new spark plug ? and add that to the 13000 miles on the meter makes me iffy, but less so knowing i have a matching bbk in my drive way as well as and expansion chamber style exhaust pipe! a simple rebuild as far as i know, consists of new pistion, rings, and or jug/head but at 13000 miles should i not replace some gear's or something ? lol i am a scooter noob this will be my third scoot 1: 2012 VIP taotao champion 50cc 4t 2: 2004 Eton beamer PN2 2T witch is what is in the drive way 3: this scoot

Picked the bike up today at 5:45pm est MGT-5 for 250$ USD the body panels are in rough shape (a few areas where the fairings mount to the frame are broken appears rigged with screws and zip ties ) if anyone knows where i could get some new or used working condition ones let me know ! until then i will find and do what i can! (i checked Adly site, list says unavailable) with the stock exhaust i rode home (super slow take off) GPS'ed in at 44mph on flats everything stock and in need of a serious cleaning air filter, trans filter, gas flush he said it is 1 month+ old gas (with stablizer) bolted on my chamber pipe and it climbed to 50mph on flats appears to have roughly the same take off speed i assume to get 55mph after i De-restrict it and install the big bore kit / replace filters came with papers showing new brake pads front and rear, witch i confirmed, new tires also confirmed this bike was sold to My Seller by a local rental shop, who obviously maintained it very well at 11881 miles i bought it today at 13034 miles i plan to replace a lot of things on it still turn signals to L.E.D head lights to L.E.D Hoca power kit witch includs everything, bbk, carb, clutch pipe ect. new grips going to repaint it all black i see fun reliable riding in my future ! (now to stop my self from riding it all over town with my last scoots plate before i register it haha! )

Wow... Sounds to me like you did VERY well!
As for your broken plastics, you should be able to repair the existing parts with epoxy and glass-cloth quite easily. Even if you find replacement plastics, they may not fit well... LOL!
Broken tabs can be re-made from sheet-metal or plastic and attached with epoxy and cloth reinforcement, just like you'd fix a boat.
Once the cosmetic parts are fixed, a sanding, priming and then you're ready for paint. Lots of little things involved with your restoration, true, but it sounds like the scooter is quite solid mechanically. And, I would think that 50mph is extremely FAST for a 50cc, even a 2-stroke. With that much top-speed, I'd expect the acceleration to be a little slow. But, I'd think you could fine-tune the balance between take-off and top-speed by experimenting with rollers (or sliders) until you get it the way you prefer. I went through that with my old 150, and it was well worth the effort.
For what you paid, I think you hit the jackpot! With a little fixing, some paint and upgrades, you'll have a GREAT 50... And... It's a 2-stroke! When you get below 100cc, THAT makes a world of difference in performance!
Enjoy!

Cool beans on your new toy ! I was going to buy an Adley but my dealer sold out and I bought a Jonway Magnum which was similar . The model they had looked like a handsome boy body style , like the Peace VIPs have which reminds me a lil of a YamahaZuma with the twin headlights . If you are hitting 50 it is not restricted . You may opt for taller gears and lighter sliders or rollers . I prefer Dr Pulley sliders myself . My dealer said the Adleys had a green and a pink wire limited the RPMs . Before you cut it do some homework and make sure you can put on a butt splice in case you need it reconnected

Loved reading your post oldchopperguy nothing better than reassurance that you did the right thing or made the right decision! I called the rental shop witch use to own this before my sellerthey NEVER installed a new cylinder or rings ect, everything except the tires and brakes are stock, Now running at 13040 miles strong! they had regular maintenance's done I.E Break fluid gear oil brakes tires air filter spark plugs i contacted adly's customer service for parts by phone yesterday they told me the sales peoples were out for lunch and would call me back they did about 15 minutes later, i told the guy what i was looking for he said he would check around and call me back - sadly he never did, so i will give another call today, i know fairing are extremely expensive, all new plastics are about as much as a new scooter... so my best option will be to take the above advise and fix it my self, witch actually works out for the best as i plan to repaint the entire scooter as for it being already derestricted it was not (i did how ever find it eventually! it is now) i am getting about 47mph on flats with a chamber pipe but i am seeing a concerningly slow take off 0mph - 10mph in about 20 seconds, witch might just be average however with my 2004 eton beamer bbk and chamber pipe installed, i was able to get 57mph on flats (GPS'ed) and take off was around 0mph - 10mph in about 3 secondsburn out on pavement (GPS'ed) so maybe i am just spoiled with my last bike being good to me it is not bogging, or even acting slugish, it is very responsive just very slow, i expect new clutch springs and a performance clutch assembly will solve this the bbk should also help Vehicles behind me HATE ME it's funny how they go to pass me and suddenly my scoot is doing 10-15mph above the posted limit anyway lol

Chaapa'ai,
Unfortunately, my 2-stroke experience is mostly 1960's kart motors. That's pretty far-removed from modern scooters, BUT... I do know what a difference a clutch can make! By making your clutch engage at a little higher rpm, your slow take-off blues may be a thing of the past.
I had a street-licensed mini-bike back in the stone-age (1962) powered by a McCulloch MC101 kart motor. With a quick-engaging clutch (around 1,800 rpm) it was a dog off the line. It would still do better than 100mph, but a boggy, DOG off the line. Switch to a 3,000 rpm clutch, and BINGO! It would absolutely SMOKE the slick on the teensy 5" wheel!
You already have a good top speed, so maybe a change in clutch engagement would be the key to a frisky take-off!
Hope so...
Leo in Texas
PS: That's a SWEET looking scoot! A REAL scooter... none of this "something else wannabe" stuff here... NICE!
