Dude seriously did you read that? I understand speed limit laws. I am asking if any vehicle capable of over 29 needs to be registered not whether they can get a ticket for speeding. I am trying to find out if the law is specific to motorized vehicles. I apologize if English is not your first language and I am being insensitive to a foreign born American...

So if I can break 29 on my bicycle it has to be registered? Or is it only motor vehicles. Here in NM we often hit speeds around 45 on descents with our bicycles... Are there big enough hills in IN to do it? What exactly was your ? again? It seems disembobulated if you ask me.

Disembobulated? Don't worry you'll catch on read the first line that ends in a ? Then forgive me for forgetting it in the second. Then reread (maybe out loud) the other posts. Good luck and in the end realize that it really doesn't matter at all. Thanks for clearing up the speeding thing though I never quite understood...
I think you were looking for discombobulated right?

The problem here in Southwestern IN is they don't teach kid's traffic safety the way they did 30 yrs. ago. Now you walk against the flow of traffic for safety. So kids being smarter than adults, take it upon themselves to ride their bikes in the same fashion. When they go to highschool they don't teach drivers training anymore. Only the well to do can afford to pay for it themselves. So if they can start riding a moped at 15 all that is required a helmet and registration sticker, and they don't have to wait till they are 18 to get a operator license without drivers training. I learned at a young age things break, and it is very costly to fix or replace them. Kid's don't think that way any more . They think they are mini adults. They don't care how long you have been here,or what you had to do without to get as far as you have in life. It's a mess out there and when someone tries to fix it, someone else just want's to get rid of it altogether. I personally new the man who fought to get mopeds back in Indiana. He is most likely gone by now it's been 30+yrs. Back then his scooters came from Europe. I don't know if anyone remembers Gary's MoPed Center or Batavus Mid-America. A lot has changed since then. Any how the update is if they can pull you over for anything, Evanspatch Indiana they will. My scooter is 2 yrs. old and it only has 265 kilometers on it. Scooter theft is bad here, and I don't ride it much because I don't want to get pulled over for a light out. Or even worse going 28 mph. and not 25. Here if they tow your scoot they will damage it one way or another and it is expensive to get it out of impound. Here all scooter's are sold to someone in Louisville Ky. so the parts can not be reused, or the scoots rebuilt. I have not heard how things went in the capitol this week. When I find out l'll let you know. :-)

Are there big enough hills in IN to do it? LOL no thankfully not, it applies to motorized vehicles. Indiana has laws that pretty well defines what is considered a motorcycle and what is not. I think it has to be under 3 hp, top speed of no more than 29 MPH, and it must have a CVT. No gears.. Over 29 MPH, over 3hp, or having manually shift gears its considered a motorcycle.. So a valid License with MC endorsement, Insurance, and it must be plated.. Other wise your illegal. Ohhh and yes we do have some hills that you can easily hit 45 + in Indiana too... A bicyclist if going over the posted speed limit can get a ticket for speeding.

This new law doesn't go into affect till 2015. If you try to go to the BMV early to get it done now, you will not get anything done. The State doesn't have the paper work to get anything done yet. What you need to do before 2015. Locate your certificate of origin. Update your Indiana State ID card. Start saving money to buy a scoot for your better half. ;-)

They actually increased the 25mph to 35mph, surprisingly. I found a link, just not saying if the governor signed it yet (he will I'm sure of it).
