I just installed a "NEW" Mikuni oil injection pump on my 2 stroke scooter. Now I have oil leaking from the header pipe flange on the scooter. I've checked to see if the pump is completely off when the throttle is closed and it appears to be. I have let the scooter sit for a few weeks and it looks as if the oil tank is slowly losing oil. Is it possible for the oil pump to leak oil into the engine while it is sitting without turning the throttle? Why would I have oil leaking around the header pipe flange? Anyone have any ideas? Any help would be appreciated!!

The oil line comes from the pump to the carb it hooks to a check valve. It may be stuck. Try removing the carb spray cleaner in it. Then hook up a vacuum hose and blow easy in it no air should pass until more pressure is applied. Its a spring and ball bearing inside it.

My throttle cable only had one lead where the Mikuni oil pump I bought requires 2 leads . Part # 159-26 from PFS . Now when you install the pump you want to bleed it by using the kickstarter several times on the oil line . My oil tank go to leaking real bad , so I premix instead . It is a hassle compared to using the oil tank but it is a more for sure way to know you are getting oil . It is a fail safe like if the pump , tank or a line went bad while riding . Here is some oil pump setup tips 49ccscoot.proboards.com/thread/3151
