Hey guys, Happy early Thanksgiving.
I've heard a lot of bad reports of Arco gasoline, and how it doesent have the quality fuel additives like Chevron with Techron or Shell with V Power. Personally, after talking with the guys at Oreilly autoparts, they told me never to use Arco because its terrible for both cars and scooters. It is said you should only use top tier fuel. What do you guys think? Opinions?

Chevron with Techron works well you feel a difference in the way the engine runs . I like BP shell and mobil . They have been playing with the gas .

I voted 'outher' Why? Because, I've seen some older tank's build up condensation (water) in them so much it becomes a problem.
If i had to vote it would be for "Midwest Petroleum MO" they test the water/Ethanol % more often, and as we all know Ethanol loves water. But my scooter doesn't like water (and yours shouldn't too.) a good shot of Seafoam in every fill up as well.

Hey Larry, did they tell you they "test the water/Ethanol % more often" or just read it in their advertisements. Its the regulators that test the gas at the stations and they put a stamp on the pumps when it was tested. Anything most of the products you buy doesn't matter what, they all will tote theirs is better than the other's so you have to take a lot of what they tote with a grain of salt. Alleyoop

Disclosure--my big bro works for Shell. That said, he told me any company that refines their own oil will be superior to the non-refiners. Stations like Shell, BP, etc. As opposed to Conoco/Phillips.
Now then, the Shell guy who came into my store the other week told me that QT and such buy their gas from the secondary market. Meaning Shell/BP/etc make gas for their own stations, then make more gas for the secondary. So one week QT might have Shell gas, the next BP. He also said if QT has a pump with 0% crapanol, then absolutely go there with my '92 Taurus and fill him every time with pure aka "clean" gas.
Before the new QT opened with E0, I learned that gas is NOT gas. With Shell or BP in the car's belly, he'd average about 18-20 mpg. With Conoco/Phillips, he got 12 mpg every single tank.
As for my scoot, I used BP 'cause the one going home had separate hoses for each grade. They don't anymore. But then I haven't driven my scoot since pulling a back muscle (and trying very hard to avoid another workman's comp claim!) so at the moment that's moot. I'd like to find another good (read Shell or BP) station with separate hoses.

It really sucks that every time I fill up gas, some gas spills because of the design and shape of my gas tank. I have to use up cut upside down Pepsi 2 liter pop bottle as a funnel for pouring gas in it, Which as you can imagine, is inconvenient

My 150 seems to burn anything quite happily. I usually go name brand unless I'm desperate which happens sometimes with a 1 gallon tank.... My biggest complaint is I have to bend over to fill the damn thing (tank in the floor), It's the one thing I dislike about the 150.

Alleyoop Good point Al, I have a few friends that work at the one Midwest Petroleum i was referring to. Kinda taking there word on it thou. I should get a good clean Mason jar, put a bit in it and keep it in a safe place and see just what we got. Who knows might not have any friends left after that test.. Lol.

I try to use the nonethanol stations but they are across town . Here is a directory for some pure-gas.org/I also use Shell but mostly I go to Quick Trip sinbce its close by and I like to get a frozen drink or tea from them . I used to use AMOCO but the quality is not like it used to be . I prefer stations where each grade has its own hose . My lil scoot I have to put in gas with bursts since that piece it the neck makes it splash back on newer pups that have higher pressure than many older ones . I would not use a Coke bottle as gas will dissolve particles and clog up the jets . I have thought about taking some tip snips and cutting out that piece which is in the way

BP, ALways BP! BP Premium is 10% more performance compared to other gasolines out there.
I use Shell too, only when I'm combining it with my Winn Dixie card, often getting $0.10 to $0.15 off per gallon, usually fill up my car by the end of the month with it, saving me ~$8 on gas compared to BP Premium, but it's only good for one fill up.
