I can't go more than 35mph. I just put a new carb in & intake. New hoses & now I'm stumped. When I do try to go faster it spits sputters & bogs like crazy. @ 1st I though the diaphragm was bad in the carb cause that's exactly how it's acting. I've got a 150cc, stock other than performance exhaust.
Thanks

Your carb is jetted wrong will take a bigger jet than what comes in the stock carb with after market exhaust and/or filter

I kinda fig, was only other thing I could think of. I usually swap jets when I put a new 1 on & didn't this time. Actually didn't think it would make all that dif but guess them jets do make all the dif.
Thanks

Yeah it is probably running lean but I would still think it would go faster that 30 - 35.

Well after Changing out the jets a few times & tuneing the carb all the ways I know. The bike will speed up bog down speed up bog down then take off. I can't believe its the carb bc im running old carb exactly how it was b4 the change & it's still doin it. I've adjusted the valves & there a little loose. But again I've ridden with loose valves b4 & this wasn't a symptom. It acts like there's a tear in the diaphragm. I'm confused

Alright so I was seriously about to abandon all hope when I did a search & found similar issue on this board.
Prob was ignition coil. Luckily I had a spare, idk if any of you have taken 1 apart but it consist of a spring a piece of flint (I'm guessing) then your part that plugs onto plug. My case was "flint" was wore down to practically nothing causing an uneven spark showing air fuel symptoms.
It's fixed for most part! now I've really got to tune my carb.

Glad you figured it out! I upgraded to a performance coil and plug wire, and kept the stock one just in case of such an emergency. Sometimes parts swapping is the easiest form of trouble-shooting!

Was this with the 24mm or a 26mm carb like you stated you got in another thread,,makes a big difference? 26mm is overkill for a stock 150 let alone a bbk,,I know guys running 24mm on bbk 150's that are bad butted!!
